    he probably meant $17.00

Alternative tentacles recently started re-printing the Nazi punks fuck off! 7", with the armband and everything.
I couldn't stop myself from ordering one along with Filth - Live the Chaos EP on puke green vinyl

5 bucks each, plus 3 dollar shipping... not bad.

And i don't mind Jello selling DK stuff even though he's not apart of them anymore
now they're just sold out old farts, much like the misfits without danzig.

surgery disaster.a little off subject The new stuff from Jello with Gitmo School of Medecine aint so bad with guys from Butthole Surfers and Victims Family. Although he isn't everyone's cup of tea, he's still cool with me, he supports, and was going to put out a Tijuanarquia full length before my compadre died, just on the strength of two songs he heard over the phone....

No I mean 1700.00 Chronic Sicks Cutest band in hardcore ep and the reagan bands 7"is one of the rarest in the world and was selling for over 1400 each at one point before someone bootlegged it, and before the re-issues were announced.

When I buy t-shirts I always buy them fro Extreme Noise in Minneapolis. It's a 100% volunteer shop, so any money made from sales is used to pay for new records, rent for the building, and other things. The shirts are all screen pirinted in the store, so everything is DIY. No money leaves the store for profit.

I'm taking a course in Audio Engineering aka Audio Production and the lecturers always, ALWAYS talk about the "industry" like it's some sort of frigging holy land and us, the people who are taking the course are certainly going to be working in the industry. Well, NO I'm not gonna do that.
First of all I would really like to shout at their faces "Will ya stop talking about this horrible industry that is making too much money by stealing from us when they're selling us a CD for friggin 20 bucks and a 10 dollar ticket to a stupid over-polished Hollywood movie?!?!" It's a dying industry with no moral values whatsoever anyway. People are too cool nowadays. They download. HAH!

And that's not all. Just a little insight. If I was to work in this industry I would have to do this thing called radio commercial. It's when the man in the suits and tie from big businesses come to my studio to ask me to record and do everything else for his commercial so he can sell more products. This mother fker will usually act like he's the boss, talk on the phone, and ask about every single thing I'm doing. I would have to do whatever this ignorant piece of humanity say or he would go to another studio. Well I'd rather kick him out. He wants me to help him sell and in return I would buy his products with my income?? Not directly his product but if you look at the flow of income chart I am buying from him in some way. One day when every studios in town are gonna say no to these people, what are they going to do?

There's a thing called being independent and I'm gonna start a new music industry. It's gonna be called the underground independent music and books anti industry. And instead of TV shows we'll have books.

Well, this puts things in perspective. Honestly till seeing this topic I'd have never though about the "theft" people are doing with merch from bands who don't get a penny from any of it. And then come the labels and claim WE are the thieves for downloading shit? Give me a fucking break.

Still I'm planning to buy records, because it is not my intention to change the opinion of the bands about money and consumerism, so if I have to buy their stuff I will (besides we all agree anyway that mp3's have shitty quality compared to CD's and vinyl). But because of where I live, I can only purchase so much stuff and most of it would be impossible for me to get. Does it make me a thief having to download 90% of the music I want?.

No, Its called being a fan, Not everyone in the world can be into a certain band, right when thier ultra killer limited LP gets pressed and are then forced to fight the vultures on ebay like me and many others now have to, I mean fuck, I WISH I was in Japan in 1984, Sweden in 1983 and wherever else the killer bands were that Im into, I probably would have saved 1000s of dollars I have had to spend on ebay to get the records I have.

To me, this is what Blogspots and filesharing are for.

Keeping awsome albums that people NEED to hear, available to peoples ears.

I do feel that if I you like an album enough to listen to it all the time, you should, by whatever means nessecary own it on LP or CD, if that means eating less extravagantly, smoking less smokes, or drinking a few less beers a day, then thats what you should do.

Some things are impossible for most people to afford, Like GISMs M.A.N. LP, Deathsides Bet on the Possibility, The first Systematic Death flexi and the Original Chronic Sick EP, but then again you can get lucky and find some moron who doesnt know what he has sellin them at flea markets and record fairs.

Anyone who is against theyre music being HEARD, needs to stop playing music and get the fuck out of it, because your in it for the wrong reasons.

That is a great point. In our scene, getting the message out any way possible should be the most important thing.

Hahahaha, the worst part of buying a super amazing out of print record is occasionally finding out, THEY NEVER PRINTED A LYRIC SHEET.

The crusty evil vocals are amazing, but dude, LET US KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING IF IM GONNA BE PAYING 40+$ for your LP.

Jello have all rights to sell DK merch, those fuckers are using Jello's lyrics even if he left the band and denied them to use his lyrics. There was a couple of lawsuits concerning this back a few years ago...

honestly i dont see the difference between a pirated shirt and a pirated recording, bootleg or otherwise. that being said i DO think it sucks that distros print up shirts of active bands and sell them without giving something to the band. however i really, really doubt that the number of pirated shirts rivals in any way the number of times records get downloaded (having been on tour multiple times with big shirt distros in tow, they dont sell THAT much... and anyway the profit margin of a shirt after cost isnt that high unless you charge an arm and a leg for them, which both diy oriented distros and bands dont usually do). and the difference between home taping and filesharing is that filesharing has the potential to MASS distribute something, not just tape it for a friend.

as for dk, id be pretty shocked if jello did it.... and frankly kinda dissappointed in him.

    The difference is big:

File sharers do it only to help the scene and get nothing in return
T-shirts sellers who doesn't ask the bands permission do it only for the money and exploit the bands

    T-shirts sales are REAL sales

Downloading an album doesn't necessarly means the money is lost because
    a) it wasn't sure that the downloader would buy the album
    b) downloading the album doesn't means you won't buy it

This is where the big difference is.

So if we compare the money lost with t-shirts sales to the money really lost with downloads (not much), the t-shirts sale without authorization are doing MUCH MORE HARM to the bands

Anyway, i thought your main argument was to ask the band's permission.... So to you, t-shirts sales should be as much dramatic as file sharing

This is the same thing with albums sales, isn't it ?

Bands usually make AT LEAST 5$ on a t-shirt. Sometimes they make less money selling an album.

And the final price of a t-shirt is always higher than an album cost
