Hi, I am Bumblefly. Not really sure how I discovered this site, but I am glad I did. It assures me that Anarcho-Punk is not a dad group of people. Only recently discovered Punk Rock, and even more recently really considered anarchy a viable thing. Punk has also really got me into politics. In short, it has been great for me. I have always been really meek but I believe Punk Rock has helped me overcome it. As for musical instruments, I can only play my voice (and not that good!) trying to start a band named the United States of Apathy, but I am not much of a socializer and rap, country, and gospel are the only things in this town, so i am having a hell of a time. Not really much to tell about me, from the East Coast of the USA. I consider my self and anarcho-commie. Strongly believe in Animal Rights. As for religion, just something I use to console myself, just consider it to put myself at ease, not really religious, but convincing myself that there is a 1% chance of an afterlife just consoles me. So I am against the Execute all religious officials stance.

    Hey and welcome! :ecouteurs:
I'm glad that you developed an interest in politics and music. I don't want to rain on your parade but I think that the chance of an afterlife in a religious context is less than 1%.
The evolution is proven, just some small details are to clarify. There are hundreds of different religions or sects who all claim to know the truth, they can't be all right. But they all can be wrong. :D
I usually don't care so much if people believe in the bible or whatever. To me it's just like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. But I mind a lot when people take it for real and turn their religious believes into institutions. Religious institutions were always enemies of the revolution and profit from keeping the people down. They would be nothing if the people wouldn't obey them and believe their stories.
Just look at those Scientology dickheads. Some crappy sci-fi author writes even crappier books and tells the people that he is thousands of years old and travels through the universe.
They start to take it for real, exploit their members and threaten everyone who crosses their way. Religion is one of the biggest threats to the humanity and to any approach to create a more social society.
It's opium for the masses like Marx said. ;) The idea that you have this life consoles me personally more. You value yours and the one of others more and give your best shot to create a change.
You don't wait for some paradise that awaits you when you are dead, you try to create the place where you want to be around you. \m/

Oh I agree. Like I said it is just something I just barely consider. It does not affect me, or what I do and I would never await paradise. THey promise you heaven so they can steal from you on earth. I know evolution is true. I'll add more later I have to go.

    Hi and welcome,
I think it's important though that we don't confuse religion with spirituality. I don't think there's anything wrong with being spiritual, not in the sense of there being a higher power that's above everything but in the sense of a power which is part of everything and which everything is part of. A kind of oneness. While I don't believe in an afterlife, I believe in rebirth but that's just a personal belief.

There are people who advocate it. Trust me. Seen them on Anarchist Facebook pages. Along with executing all capitalists.

Hello from a fellow new guy. I agree with alot of what you stated. Just not the afterlife stuff. Good luck with getting a band together, hopefully you guys can become serious activist in your town.
