crowley was just a clown ripping off gullible christians and as far as i remember he had sympathies for the german empire of wilhelm II. and lots of fascist members of the thule-society which was one of the sources for the nazi-ideology concerning "aryans" and "nordic" supremacy. "thelema" is just a catchy rip off of every superstiton avaliable at crowleys time - don't get fooled!

It's adorable when people read a bit of something and then talk like the know about the subject. Any Nazi types who were into Crowley must have ignored his writings on the Jewish Kabbalah or his Jewish boyfriend of many years. I'd say that any interest any had is completely irrelevant.

    Very fucking funny! :lmao:

But for real. I would not be one to refer to A&E as anarchy and equality. To me equality is just to much of an abstract concept. Equality amongst whom? Equality at what level? In what context? I never really gave circle E much of a passing thought, but it just came to me recently, something I've really known all along. In my usage/opinion it is E for egalitarian. Anarchist & Egalitarian. Which in my opinion is the barometer by which human communities and relationships should be measured, their relative egalitarianism. I know I'm pretty much just splitting hairs but it is really whatever. I'm probably gonna get an E tattoo so it figures I should have a good explanation for it. I'm gonna get A for anarchy on my right shoulder blade with I for individualism underneath and another A for absurdism underneath. I'll probably get my E on my left shoulder blade.
    :a: \m/ :anarchism: Full Anarkeyz!

No idea where the circle-E originated but I do know that it didn't originate with Anti-Product.

Actually a circle- = would be a good alternative symbol for equality.

It may be somewhat shocking, but a lot of earlier punks in the Anarcho movement were actually somewhat educated. The circle E is the symbol for the philosophical school called 'Egalitarianism,' which basically means equality. People generally say it stands for Equality, but it came from the Egalitarianism symbol. I can't figure out where the // comes from though.

Actually Thelema was probably out before the Thule society, I'm pretty sure the OTO was. Please don't associate Crowley with NAZIsm. There were a lot of occult movements around durign the turn of the century, it was like a renaissance of the occult revival that happened in the actual renaissance. Ariosophy seems to have come more from Madae Blatvatsky's Theosophy Society, they talked a lot about Lemuria, Thule, Atlantis. The people like Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels took it too far when they mixed it with the philosophical viewpoints of the Eugenicists in America and England, and especially people like Lothrop Stoddard who literally said German genetics were the absolute best. Just because occulism exists doesn't mean it's bad, the NSDAP took it too far with Eugenics. Germany was really struggling and the president after the first world war (hindenberg) was basically retarded and had severe dementia and I guess hearing in the media that Germans have the best genetics caused an overload of nationalism. So don't associate Crowley with NAZIs All the rumors about him working with NAZIs are just that, they are rumors.
