Any bands that are giving music away? I know there are the links to other sites, but not too fond of being jailed for something like that. Though the chance is oh so small, there is a chance. So are there any bands currently giving music away?

And just in general, free or not, I'd like to find some new anarcho punk bands. I know there was a thread, but people got confused and nothing really came from it.

    FREE MUSIC???

People began to "TAKE" "MUSIC" ever since home duplicating equipment was introduced, for example using cassette tapes to make music tapes to give to your friends, those were "ILLEGAL" and as other forms of copping were introduced, like copying and pasting digital files was introduced, a generation was being introduced to "SHARING" music with anyone in the world through file sharing sites...

So take that music....and share it \m/

I mean I am looking for bands who advocate sharing their work. Thus making it free to the receiver.

As in contrast as to bands that will go after you for "Illegally" sharing music? Like CRASS, or the music executives that own the RIGHTS to the CRASS music??

I dont really pay any sort of attention as to what bands want there music to be treated, i don't think the majority of the world does...from taking music for your own enjoyment or to use it as samples and create something new...

I think we are in a time where how the "MUSICIAN" wants people to treat there music as is over, it will be taken, copied, edited, recreated, memed and uploaded all over the world and in real time...

anything that can be copied and pasted as a digital file, is up for grabs in this new age...

youtube and file sharing sites have changed the face of music alltogether. i done a degree in music and we disscused this subject and came to a conclusion that its both bad and good it can allow small artits/bands become known with very little effort but can also cause problems for musicains who rely on thier art to make them a living. the old music industy is dead and it has to keep evolving to keep up with the times. theres more money to be earned playing live gigs but that can also depend on the music your playing. these days small time musicains make music because thats what they enjoy and have to have a job on the side to survive. its tough out there in the music industry and i personally believe its gunna keep changing. and im not to sure on bands that give there music away for free, should they give it away for free or should music have a price?

Just look around the Pirate Bay, there's lots of music there. Also there's a thread somewhere called "your bands" with some good free stuff.
