Hi im marcus from New Zealand.
^This is just an old Guitar & Drum Machine Demo from April 2012.
It was done in a place called Flaxmere, in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
To cut a long story short its not a nice place and my experience living there
was a pretty tough one. I didnt have all my recording gear and gadgets for this demo
with me for fear of the residence being robbed.
At the time I was going through the death blows of withdrawal off a certain substance addiction.
My partner who I was living with there was also struggling to face daily life without her vice of
drinking copiously. Um, our friend Rachel who introduced us committed suicide during the time
I was recording this. Not to mention one of our cats died, and it was the first time I closely
comforted an animal as it passed away, which fucking sucked.
And within the weeks after this recording our relationship had fallen apart
and we've never seen each other again.
So the point I'm trying to make is its quite a fucking dark harrowing recording.

Some of the influences are Godflesh, Amebix, Killing Joke, Head of David, Joy Division.
But the over all sound and tuned down guitar makes it akin to abit of Crust, the likes of Depressor.
Or maybe Mid from Deviated Instinct's other industrial-ish project Spinewrench.

Anyway, hope you may enjoy it. \m/

Also, this hip hop guy^ made a music video around the time this recording had just been done.
It not only shows the suburb, the street we lived down, but the very house we were in is the
house with the people on the front lawn / deck. As it was his childhood home ofcourse.
In the song hes just talking about how tough it was growing up in the area, etc.
This is probably an interesting cultural insight into Flaxmere and similar parts of New Zealand.
I got beaten up a few times for being a pale skinny white boy with long hair, different clothes, etc.
