Greetings everyone. The name's Mark and I live near Durham in the UK. I'm 43 years old and looking to re-start my love of anarchist punk and the whole culture that goes with it. I was fortunate enough to have grown into my teenage years with the first wave of anarchist punk back in the early 80's. I'd always had a rebellious nature, even as a child and didn't conform to mainstream ideas of music, media, clothing, education and lifestyle. As I was far too young to go to pubs and gigs, I made do with buying records with my pocket money every week. I used to buy fanzines and demo tapes and would write anarchist poetry on all sorts of themes such as anti-vivisection, anti-establishment, nuclear holocaust scenario's etc etc... As I got older I drifted away from the scene, but recently the spark has been re-ignited. Now, I'm not a rebellious teenager anymore and have decades of life experiences behind me. good and bad. I quite fancy learning the bass guitar to play some of the music I love as well as making my own stuff. So if anyone's got any recommendations for a cheap starter bass to learn with I'd much appreciate it. Thanks
Welcome, for a starter bass try something older and off brand, most new stuff is dreck if you aren't paying a lot. Something about how wood doesn't grow like it used to.
