Do Only Crusties Squat?

everyone squats. from my experience looking for houses for myself, i've found families squating doing it old school; i've lived with hippies in squats, folks who shop at the mall, nerds who aren't aware of anarchism, and abunch of other people that would surprise even the cops when they show up at a known squat. everyone squats and everyone should be encouraged to do so. knowledge is power, ya know?

 

There used to be a punk squat on Frankfurter Allee in Berlin in the early 90's, and directly opposite, across the street was another house squatted by neo-nazis(!) They had this agreement that they wouldn't attack each others houses, which did not however extend as far as the subway station, so it was only safe to visit and leave the squat in a group.

 

There are a lot of really awesome squats in New Orleans right now with all the vacant homes. A few that I saw even have running water and electricity.

and they are coming... i think that was the idea after the Government moved members of the African community all over the fucken USA, is this the trend inside The Post Capitalist Empire known and the USA? is this also part of whats also happening in Oakland? Detroit? Pittsburgh? Are the Oggles the first sign of gentrification happening in "African American" communities? I'm surprised they didn't mention "Latino" populations that start to pop up also, "documented" and "undocumented" and the "ones who didn't cross the border, but the border crossed them" in small quantities, who are used to cut wages and not employ Africans, and well there not as African looking, you know, the USA is a racist nation and this is what I've seen in New Orleans and Oakland...

so where should anarcho punks or anarchists squat?? In the USA???

In England it was always the other way round most of the squatters tend to look very normal , while a lot of the crusty types generally still live with their parents.

 

Well what i know of Denmark had a pretty cool movement called BZ bevægelsen which translated to english the squat movement back in the 80'es they squatted everything they could get their hans on they did this for the attention of how bloody expensive apartements were and the youth needed a place to hang out, however some of their methods were violence and they wern't scared of the fighting the police, one of the oldest squatted buildings were jagt 69 which was used as a concert place and a place for young people to hang out, mostly favored by autonomes and punks and other scum of the earth, it was brought by a christian group of people called Faderhuset, the council had enough with these anarchists and extreme socialists who were making fights with the police and caused chaos on the streets, as they sold the squatted house to faderhuset, Faderhuset wanted this as a new youth house for christians and they also said that they want to cleanse the autonomes of all of their sins, this struggle began in the late 90'es and the house was evicted in 2007,

we still have a known squatted house its actually youth house number the second, the squatters move on and fight the system.
