So, I don't know how many will relate with me considering Punk and Classical are very different obviously, but has anyone else ventured into the world of classical music? I really enjoy some pieces of classical music. I feel like it's really moving and passionate which could relate to punk music in my mind. So, do you know any great classical composers that you enjoy?

I honestly could never really get into classical stuff, However I do love well-composed pieces from various films. I'm actually really big into mariachi music right now. Go figure.

I really liked it when I was a kid(huge nerd), my favorites were Rachmaninov(or rachmaninoff or whatever its spelled) and also Chopin. I don't listen to it so much anymore though, haha. There's one more, I just can't remember his name. Aaaaaah!

i'm pretty into classical, among other genres. if i had to choose a favorite composer, i'd have to say mozart. favorite piece? symphony no. 26. pure magic... sends shivers down my spine almost every time i listen to it. that's not something i can really honestly say about most music (especially punk).
brahms would be a close second.

    Is it Wagner?

I like ambient music, especially psychedelic ambient. It's not exactly classical but also almost complete opposite to punk.

before i done a college course on music i was ignorant towards classical music as well other great genres such as Funk and jazz but i have learnt to appricieate most music because its someones artistic expression and that should be praised. the only music i Hate is auto tuned bullshit thats made by fucking computers to create as much fucking money as possible, and the only reason it sells is because the record company's that are making these tracks are already rich so they can afford to put there track on the radio or tv. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHhh the music business is FUCKED :ecouteurs:

Haha, I'm not sure! Its been ages since I listened to any classical music.

I think everything gets fucked once you put "business" next to it.

I like some stuff, like some Bach and Ravel. What I find hard to listen to or even try to comprehend is modern composers doing classical stuff.

I don’t think there’s anything incongruent about liking both punk and classical, or almost any other type of music (except perhaps insipid commercial pop stuff). It’s all art.

    Exactly.

Personally, I really listen to the lyrics of songs, but when I write, I can’t listen to music with lyrics, so I often put on some classical music. I dig Chopin, Brahms, and I’m a fairly solid fan of Strauss, but I’d have to say that my favourite composer is Tchaikovsky – there’s something quite raucous about his work that gets me every time.

Classical music it might be boring to some people, but listen to that music,it s art, emotions trough music and nothin more.Listen to Mozart stuff. At the age of 5 he already performed,at age of 17 he wrote his first works, Beethoven was deft, let s be honest how many of us today can make music such as Beethovens in your head.come on people hate the music, love the art!

Both Wagner and Mahler were considered mavericks, Mahler being particularly anti-establishment, in their respective times - maybe more in common than the they are given credit for...
