Hey, so I've joined a short while ago, but during that time I checked out all of the download section, and downloaded anything that had a working link. I also collected all (most) of the music from Ungovernable on TPB. Punk was the first form of music I loved, some of the true punk I started listening to included bands like Crass, Subhumans, Dead Kennedys and The Exploited. I have been through a foray with metal music, and now I'm returning to my long lost favourite genre of punk music. The imagery/ lyrical content/ dress code of metal for me has gotten somewhat tiresome, so I'm exploring tons of new anarcho-punk and crust now. Feel free to add me on last.fm, as it's in my signature, and thanks.

I'm the same way, started off with Punk, went on to metal but came back to punk. If you haven't heard Choking Victim or Leftover Crack, they might be up your alley as they have alot of metal influences

Thanks guys, but I already know Choking Victim / Leftöver Crack / Crack Rock Steady. They are good but I can't get into too much ska outside of some of their material, and mainly, The Specials (straightforward ska, I know). One genre I would recommend to people getting out of metal is Powerviolence. Bands like Man is the Bastard, Lack of Interest, Extortion, etc. are really close to the hardcore punk and metal side. But I also like grindcore like Agathocles, Rotten Sound and Nasum, as well.

If yer into the whole straight edge thing (or can at least look past the lyrics), Toxic Narcotic is a good crust band, I also like Nausea. Massgrave is good too, as is Endprogram.

Man, I've got literally hundreds of new bands from this site already, but yeah I also enjoy Nausea. Looking forward to actually listening to the new music, I've got it all added now just gotta do the deed. I'll look into those other recs when I get the chance. Thanks
