I LOVED putting these on, but it has died since my girl and i were the only ones bring fucking something to the table. I mean, with the other punks and "anarchists" in my area, i was so pissed off that after like 3 or 4 events, people started to show up just to eat our food and drink and not bring anything else to give away, not even services!! I hope that ones that are in your area work a lot better..

For a GENERAL ROUGH ESTIMATE, TAKE WHAT YOU WANT AT WILL, DEFINITION..

I personally feel this is an AMAZING radical activist activity, maybe we should start a virtual one? Anyone want to give me a car? ;)

idea is good, just need small modifications and different people who will realize it.
in other case, only middle class people can exchange things because they have what to bring. it means poor people are excluded. therefore modifications are necessary. FREE from capitalist mentality about materialism, then creating of projects like this.
I became member of freecycle before 2 weeks and they never sent approval email, without it, I could not become full member and see information. and at one gift forum which is dead, only admin post messages about anarchism and there are topics where people can supply and demand something, I was deleted from membership because I asked admin if he can help me to register domain name, I was ready to send him money. he didn't answer, he just misused his master position and deleted my username. that's egoism produced with grewing up in capitalism, and then such people mix themselves in anarchist groups and then we have quantity but not quality. therefore I am happy that his forum nobody visit, while website of ordinary man in the same city, is massively visited by people who exchange goods. just I forgot the name of website but you could not participate if you don't speak Croatian language.

Yeah, maybe they should have jacked up their prices so only half the people could afford to eat!

    You're an idiot.

This is all REALLY really cool, but you're allowedto share without an event.

On the other hand, events can help raise awareness and it's a good excuse to get together and have a good time with people you don't regularly see :p

Hey dude...I didnt even have to say that! The event obviously failed on it's own...for the same reason all communism has failed: Freeriders.

Proof that A. Actual Communism has existed, and B. If you meant the USSR, please explain how in a country with almost full employment, it failed due to "freeriders" and not a combination of nationalism and market reforms?

A.It hasnt. Prove that real capitalism has existed in the last 75 years. he only things that come to mind are ancient ireland, ancient iceland, and early america...but even most of those werent completely unregulated.

B.I'm referring to the general idea that a socialist/communist society will eventually collapse. Its a temporary fix. Look at Canada...They have single payer health care and their system blows chunks. Theres more people receiving treatment than people paying for treatment.

True, but regardless I'd rather live in a country with free or affordable health care, than being unable to pay for food or rent because I/my baby/my child/my wife/my father/my whatever has some kind of rare medical condition that I probably can't even pronounce and the treatment is virtually unaffordable.

'socialism',is not state communism as much as a nationalist isn't a nazi but being very wary and capitlism does not work alone, it cannot and neither can humans generally so don't belive no hype.
my country is based on these things which is good but its also a bit stupid, u have polis fighting over money or 'socialism' but no freedom , its the argument of kings and divide and conquer while they enjoy the spoils, we have had to move them aside for us to have anything or real progress, things do not just cometh, as i sed stupid systems create stupid people

    why should we

    HAHA!!! I see your dilemma...

Your an idiot for thinking id charge people for food at a Really Really Free Market. Donations would have been fine, but judging by the other posts you have left here, you would be one of the douchebags to come by, pick up an item and then try to sell it on ebay.

No shit einstein, you have no idea what i do outside of having a free market. It was done to get people who give away stuff to get together and have a little organization to get to people you couldnt reach before.

I rather live in a place where I have to pay for good medical care, than one where I get free substandard care. Seriously. I'm half canadian. I've seen the medical system up there. You have to wait for months to get appointments, hours upon hours to get into see a doctor etc.

Socialized medicine has obviously failed, otherwise there wouldn't be all the private medical groups to fill the need.
