I might be starting a band soon with some homies. There's going to be some Sludge/Crust/Thrash/Grind/and maybe some Ska influence (if they'll let me throw some in there). Any ideas for names I can use. (If we ever make an album I will totally give a shout-out to you if you give me a good name)

Nah, but seriously, here's a good one. I think it was an album title from an 80s thrash metal band:
    Real Eyes Realize Real Lies

Sti, how 'bout Fuck You Mood (more attitude)

or giving Punkmar a nudge: Dire Tribe

real eyes realize real lies is a great and true concept. i agree. but i think thank you mood is funny and ironic towards the mindset of most regular people, in addition to the sound of d-beat, it makes "thank you mood" a statement of our sound being somewhat "destructive sounding" or not "jolly" in nature, on a deeper level- so it makes thank you mood something that to the common ear would seem grimy and in any sense "punk"its got alot of attitude but more in deep emotionl two faced kind of way. fuck you mood is a good concept, a mood that isnt necessarily malicious but is true to itself and the emotion of the person

Then what about Thank You Obama, that'd be making a statement in a cynical way.

or Stock Notch Collector, you know, soldiers competing for kills.

shit i posted a long message about that then my computer turned on me. anyways, i dont believe in posting obama as a figurehead for these problems because they arent his problems, they are all (even in romneys agenda) symptoms of an imploding system, so i think in attacking obama we arent attacking the root of any problem. and attacking obama i believe just creates more room for posh little dialogues of that same old rhetoric "Reagan did this.." or anything imposed figurehead, not to say that what those people were doing wasnt a clear indication of the nature of those policies i think thats what should have really been exposed, same as now, the nature of the policies and the system therein, the face of "obama' or "___insert name here___" are just handouts given to those who believe they are doing something right in any direction because "oh hey everybody we have a bad president!! there is 1 corrupt person fucking everything up!" and that is simply not true, that is a sham and that is what they want us to go for, it makes the gravity of the movement nonchalant. where really the figurehead "insert name here" is doing a couple out of a set of in a sense almost mandated options, the only difference between candidates is wich one of those in a sense mandated options they should so choose and for some reason that to the common ear resounds as "different policies" point being fuck obama and romney and blah blah blah every one of them will always be the face of one thing, the "patrician" agenda, capitalist society has no other choice. i think that stock notch collector would portray some of the situation but in a different light-though i do believe that name would have an effect on a portion of activists themselves, but probably not common people. i recommended thank you mood as a means of describing the subservience of attitude among us all, we wait for our two bits, not the other way around, so it resounds in a whole different set of emotions and mindsets not only politically but on the level that really matters, social liberation and freedom to be yourself, which frees the mind of complacency i believe, and i think freeing the mind of complacency would really blow the house of cards down that is capitalism. thank you obama is in a sense right, but its more like thank you moving train of corruption with a new face to blame.

Oh yes, always try to save your shit on notepad when putting down tons of writing.
Yes you're right about thank you obama not really hitting the nail on the head, after all he's just a puppet for the corporates agenda. Capitalism is the name of the enemy he represents. stock notch collector could be misinterpreted by some and you may get a bunch of right wing nutters rocking up at your gig, thinking you're one of them hahaha. But seriously, I still think it would be a good name and every punk would "get" the parody.
Thank you mood is not a bad name but like I said, personally I'd prefer fuck you mood. Good thing we're not in a band together then haha. Ha, deciding on a band name that every member is happy with is always a bit of a dilemma.

New Faces to Blame has a similar problem as with thank you obama. Corrupt Direction sounds alright but it also sounds a bit too ordinary, like there's probably already a band with that name. Well, no there doesn't seem to be one but I don't think it's all that memorable.

Or maybe LORD OF THE DRONES (but DRONE LORD is equally good)

    DEATH/KILL(ED) BY REMOTE
    VIDEO GAME WARRIORS
    FUEL YOUR ANGER
    DAILY GRIND
    GRINDSTONE JOCKEYS
    MORAL BANKRUPTCY
    BROWN NOSE JUNKIES
    ASS-LICK SOCIETY

Which now brings me to this little anecdote. I was in a car with some friends today and we went to go score some weed. So we go into this (predominantly) coloured community, where my merchant lives and there were a bunch of people hanging out there by the house, drinking. So after I got my stuff and a bit of smalltalk, I get back into the car and this one chick, who was drunk calls out to me: "jy, Spike, come here.....(pause)... I want to lick your ass!" Hahahahaha. Sorry, I just had to share that :lmao: .
So my question to you guys is, would any of you feel offended if that happened to you? I just thought it was fucking funny, but then I'm a guy. Although I also know a lot of girls who wouldn't be offended if I were to say that to them. It obviouly depenfs on the situation as well.
So what are your views on this? I'd like to hear them. Like when is it condidered ok and when not?
