For those types who think the military should just shrivel up and vanish... how long do u think it would be before a country like china or north korea invades and occupies the usa because we have no military anymore? It's a far fetched dream that no military in the usa would lead to complete freedom and anarchism. maybe for a minute before someone else decides to oppress. (Again, i do not support the military, but this is how it is.)

Not necessarily, the army employs hundreds of thousands for many, many different purposes, mechanics, computer programmers, architects, etc. A guy I used to work with is a chef at a military base. The only thing he wields is a spatula. (Which is good because he couldn't defend himself if his life depended on it.)

Nobody is defending the wars in the Middle East. Unfortunately, though, as the Anxietiest pointed out, as long as other governments exists, so must ours. True Anarchism would virtually have to be global.
