What are your thoughts on using offensive words in hiphop/rap songs ( for example, Immortal Tech., very radical and left oriented band and still using n*, b* etc.) ? I know we have already discused this somewhere but there are some new people here and I'd like to know their opinion as well.

Oh thats a tough one, I listen to wu-tang and the likes a lot and you hear those words all the time. I don`t know, "its okay when they use it" seems stupid.
I don`t really think using those words is enforcing, like girls calling themselves or others cunts or sluts(in a friendly way). In fact it feels as if it has the opposite effect, it just makes it okay to call them those words because they lose their meaning when you hear them all the time. Or maybe thats the point? It takes a lot to offend me, its okay if someone I know well calls me a bitch as a joke but I don`t like it.
I`d like to hear some opinions too.

I think if it's used too often, yes it loses its meaning and in a way it "cheapens" the human being and causes people to disrespect each other. It seems like the only thing they respect is money.

Do you guys know kwaito? It's like south african hip hop I guess but it' a genre all on its own?

There's something about the vocals that reminds me s little of punk. Also their lyrics are very political/socio-critical.

Sorry I only noticed your question now. I can speak english (duh), german and afrikaans, which is very similar to dutch and while I can read dutch and understand it if "you" speak slowly I can't quite speak it. But they'll understand afrikaans. I also know a few words and sentences in xhosa but that's one of the most difficult languages to learn.
    And how about you?

You know I've always thought of it as lazy vocabulary, I mean if you've ever listened to people that aren't very good try to rhyme they usually resort to using all of that language way too much, so when people that I know for a fact can flow use it, it just seems lazy to me, not to mention misogynist..the most brilliant rhymes ever spit out are usually brilliant because they avoid those things and rhyme impossible words and connect ideas in a fascinating way...my two pesos

haha i had spanish for three months at school, only thing i remember is que. i still say objective and subjective instead of biased though, i could probably mention lots of other things i always get wrong so I`d say you`re better than me, haha.

on topic: i agree on the "lazy vocabulary" argument. although cursing can emphasize your point, at least if you use it the right way.

"if someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them... and stab them in the heart"

Anyone know where this quote comes from?

Green Anarchy, great stuff. I've come across Hip hop vs Punk many times. There's fake versions of very artistic style. It's good to come across something genuine.

Hey shizy, what's up. I'm almost a quarter way through your book and It's fucking funny. Like I told you, I'm a slow reader, I've probably got ADHD or something, haha, but I'll get 'round to finishing it soon, bro.
