There's no profit in that. Look what happened in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina hit. There were some houses (I think they were something like social flats) situated near a middle class neighborhood that weren't even damaged, and when the residents tried to move back in, they were prevented from doing so under the guise of the buildings being "unsafe". Apparently bullshit.
The mayor of N.O. had some kind of deal going with a housing development project and wanted to have those buildings torn down to build apartment blocks for high earners.
Apparently the surrounding community also saw them as an eyesore that lowered the overall value of their properties.
"America wants fuel. To get it it needs puppets, so what's 10 000 000 dead when it's keeping out the russians...." Dead Kennedys.
Hahahaha, seemed kinda relevant to the issue of america's hugely disproportionate defense budget.

yeah, somehow i don`t see them fitting that into their national budget. actually spending money for the benefit of society? with no profit involved? questions????
its a very noble thought though! sometimes i feel like demolishing my whole neighborhood too.

I admit I was being purposely ideological while ignoring the true priorities of the US government. A change of this type would require a culture paradigm shift that would amaze the entire world. What I wanted to do was at the very least introduce the seeds of radical proposition to other Americans. The irony is that almost half the clicks were from other countries.

You're both right that there'd be no profit in rebuilding homes. The United States main export is military power. We produce virtually nothing else. It's this obsession with (in the words of Chomsky) "profit over people." We are not a commodity yet that is how people are treated, as investments to see a cash return in. It's that very philosophy that is at the core of America's social disease. The affects are global.

My main point is that creating a more just world is within the potential of the US and the other global super powers. Let's at the very least acknowledge that.

Of course its possible! Although I think that it is difficult in any country, introducing the public to radicalism. They mostly laugh at you and think you`re insane, if you get any significant power whatsoever they get you removed or simply replaced. Just look at how many times they`ve done it, tried it, failed it in South-America.

Wow, that just struck me. Doesn`t the US government own some oil companies as well?

So now that we've acknowledged that it's actually possible we can move forward. The idea of taking care of yourself isn't very "radical," it's a natural instinct. If people laugh at this idea then they must be insane themselves. Nature says a species should survive. If we fight for our un-survival, then we are arguing for suicide.

Humiliation by laughter. What's so funny? Everyone at the top is laughing at them.

In America, there is more middle and lower class people than upper class. The difference is that we are more disorganized. Our organization is their nightmare. It will likely never happen because we are obsessed with individualism. Everyone is looking out for the their own neck, just like they should be. Yet, the idea that the world could be changed if the lower and middle class advocated it, is amazing. Think of it, the whole world could change.

    Baby steps... baby steps...

Yeah, but the majority are insane and probably will laugh and get this hypothetical radical leader replaced.
Its the tyranny of the masses.

I think its just a matter of time before they will rise up though, I mean it has happened before. I wouldn`t say theres no chance of a revolt. Baby steps!

Someone once suggested putting an adequate amount of LSD into the water supply but since most people don't drink tap water anymore this plan is foiled.
Or maybe that's the real reason why they want us to drink bottled water hahaha.

I'm digging this conversation and I'm aching to answer back but I just had a massive asthma attack last night.

I've heard people use the term "Bewildered Heard," but this is a new one of me. Get's me thinking.

I like the way your mind works, man. ha ha.
