"Beat the shit out of anarchists" flyer found in Oakland

This is disconcerting... need to know if the people who wrote this are simple assholes or people in uniform...

in any case... it's time to fight back!

 

I'd not get too worried every time some nutter puts up a poster or two. However, I do like the idea of finding random 'black clad anarchists and vandals' just wandering around the streets of Oakland, like anarchists going to the shops in their ninja outfits.

I believe there's been a bit of a disconnect between anarchists and the black community in Oakland lately, so who knows who wrote it.

It's still not clear from the article who is behind the hostility aimed at the anarchists. Although the targeting of 'Caucasian' (spelt wrong on the flyer, smart) does imply some sort of racial divide. To be honest, this is all in an area I know nothing about. It seems strange though. I mean, who would call their defensive group 'DOOM'!?

 

It still looks like fascist propaganda trying to rally the black community (included) against anarchists, although I can't say for certain.

 

I've heard people say stuff like this at school once in a long whole about me and my friends. It never happens.

During the early hours of October 25, 2011, hundreds of violent police officers stormed into Occupy Oakland's home base at Oscar Grant Plaza, near city hall, to evict protesters & to remove their belongings. 96 of our comrades were arrested after the cops used tear gas, flash-bang grenades and less-than-lethal munitions to subdue the crowd.

Occupy Oakland's spirit was not damaged, we were emboldened and radicalized as thousands returned that afternoon to stand up and fight back. Unforgettably, so did the police. The battle for the plaza went on into the night, turning downtown Oakland into what looked like a war zone. Hot canisters of tear gas flew through the air, rubber bullets crashed into the bodies of our fellow occupiers, one hitting an Iraq war veteran in the head, putting his life in serious danger.

This year we say, FIGHT BACK! Let's re-converge and take back our home!

On October 25, 2012 Meet at Oscar Grant Plaza at 12PM for a rally/bank shut down/party before the 7PM mass FTP march on OPD. Let's show these pigs we will never back down in the face of violent oppression!

Come prepared to set up a new home base. Bring supplies needed for an occupation: tents, signs, posters, food, books, gardening supplies, & friends.

There are three banks near the plaza, with enough numbers we can shut them down all day!

You are encouraged to wear all black to stand in solidarity with those who put themselves on the front line to defend our space.
