AUGUST 8TH, 2012. - Riots, Clashes And Burned Buses After Attempt To March In Santiago

This report was translated by I :ecouteurs:

On Wednesday the 8th a new march was called, within the context of the student movements. The march was not authorized by the city council of Santiago. Yet thousands of people gathered in Plaza Italia to try to march down the main street of the city.

When people tried to march, was when the police attacked with tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets, leading to the first confrontation.

The riot moved to Bustamante Park, where the first Transantiago Bus (transantiago bus was a city owned bus line and under neo-liberalism was privatized) was sent on fire, at the same time on Providence Avenue the Movistar (a movie theater) windows were shattered and a BCI Banks window also.

On General Bustamante Street several automakers were attacked, as well as on Seminar Street.

A few meters from the first bus, another machine of Transantiago Bus was burned, minutes later on the same street a third Transantiago bus was set on fire.

After this new round of clashes and rioting, 75 people were arrested; there were also 49 injured bastards (cops) with lesions of varying degrees.

A Teenager (14 Years Old) Accused Of Burning A Bus On August 8, Must Enter A Prison For Juveniles. + He Will Be Charged With Setting On Fire The Other 2 Busses.

This report was translated by I :ecouteurs:
    And taken from here: http://liberaciontotal.lahaine.org/?p=4449

On Thursday August 9th a formal indictment against JC (14 years old), on charges of "fire" (for the 3rd bus) and "threat" (against the driver), for the acts that occurred during the riots of August 8 where three public transport buses were torched. On that occasion the Court's Eighth Court determined that JC would remain under house arrest.

That was until this Friday August 17th, when the prosecution along with the company "Express" (owner of the bus) appealed, asking for the youth's incarceration.

The Santiago Court of Appeals in a split decision (two votes to one), ordered the detention, JC (14 years old) must enter a Sename Center (National Youth Service) during the investigation period of 80 days.

The argument used by the prosecution, was that his freedom was a danger to the security of society, as well as statements that JC told reporters at the output of its execution of 9/8. At that time he said he did not regret taking part in the riots and would continue to participate in marches. This despite the fact that the young man admitted involvement only damages but denied authorship of the fire.

Also the Prosecutor announced that JC will also be charged with burning the other two buses that were torched during the riots. They will count on photographs to link him to setting the busses on fire.

Solidarity with all prisoners of Street Fighting!
Eduardo Garay, Sebastian Fajardo Adrian Diaz and JC, to the street!

I was thinking about all the protests and confrontations that have happended in August 2012, I think there were like 3-4, and well, where does all the paint come from? And at the end of theses marches 200-400 militants attack the cops.

I've seen people use egg shells filled with paint and the splash of paint it leaves behind is not that big. But in these chilean protest they leave great big splashes of paint on the objects they are thrown at. Does any one know what type of containers they are using to fill up with paint that will leave a great big splash of paint on an object?

This is a great shot from high above Plaza Italia, I believe, and the shot is one continuous clip for 7 minutes and you get a glimpse of the what's been going on the streets of chile for the past 18 months and around 400 protests.

These guard dogs for the rulers of chile, are getting fucked over and over, protest after protest and fuck they gotta be hatting it. HAHA

I think there is a post early on in this thread about one of the first confrontation with the cops and it went on into the night till like 1-2 am and eventually the cops left, they called it a day, maybe the overtime wasn't worth it anymore... HAHA

In the reports chilean anarchist post on line they keep tallies on how many peeps get arrested & how many cops get fucked up and got sent to hospitals HAHA

But one must also realize that there are social movements happening in chile that aren't really talked about in the media, and you cant find a lot of info on the web. You gotta dig around and here and there you find sociologists and historians talking about what is happening in chile. For example in many cities they are regional community assemblies where people are realizing they have the power and ability to fight for reforms or take direct action when it's needed. :)

I've heard of blocks of squats in chile, and of a self sustaining community of like 6 blocks by 6 blocks but i haven't heard more on these or other types of communities sprouting throughout chile...

Bombing Of Branch of “Bank Of Chile”
(Banco De Chile) in Santiago - Sep. 6, 2012

This articke was taken from: http://liberaciontotal.lahaine.org/?p=4500
And translated by the black nova :ecouteurs:

    from the bourgeoisie press ...

Early Thursday Sep. 6th 2012, a strong explosion left heavy damages at a branch of Bank Of Chile (Banco De Chile), located at stop 13 on Vicuña Mackenna Ave. (west) and San Antonio St., in the La Florida commune.

At about 1:20am an explosive device was detonated, next to an ATM. The powerful explosion caused extensive damage to the front of the bank, destroying the entire hall from reinforced glass, cashiers and the roof.
After the bomb was set off, on the doors of the bank, a sign with the message "Out of Service" was left.

The Police and PDI cordoned off the site and the traffic on the avenue was interrupted while the GOPE reviewed the perimeter in search of another artifact in the place, which was discarded. Then there were routines to determine the type of explosive, etc..

The device would have been composed of a quencher (1kg capacity) filled with black powder and a mechanism activated by a timer.

The bank is located in a sector mostly made up of businesses and it’s found in the back of La Florida municipality.

In the place there were no pamphlets or slogans that vindicate the fact. Just as no person was injured after the explosion.

On Thursday morning the Minister of Interior, and the prosecutor dedicated to these events and other politicians, made a series of statements about the bombing, it had "terrorists" characteristics and that justice "must do their work in relation to these offenses seeking to intimidate the population." Home Secretary also mentioned the "sensitive" character and "special" in September, before an anniversary of the Sep. 11 coup, but the government hopes that "expressions of these sensibilities are made through political and peaceful channels, and not through the explosions of bombs."

Moreover the press released a video captured by a camera that’s in front of the branch, which showed two young skaters on the sidewalk in front and at the time of the explosion fled the scene, young people who’s faces where not covered and did not seek to evade the cameras that were in there way. The news media is trying to connect the young men with the bombing, saying that the police would be working to identify them.

Day Riots And Clashes On The 39th
    Anniversary Of "September 11th"

Sabotages, barricades, fighting with bombs an armed attacks on police on September 11th. Leaving in the balance a dead paco (cop) shot and killed and many other pacos (cops) injured!

    • The Night Before The 11th…

Preventive Repression On Monday night, the 10th, agents of the 30th Precinct Radio Patrol conducted interventions in various districts trying to prevent outbreaks of disturbances for a new September 11th. The so-called “centurion squad” made vehicle and identity checks in the communes of Puente Alto, La Platina, Recoleta and Conchalí, as well as the removal of materials that could be used for barricades and confrontations, like abandoned tires.

After these operations, police arrested 117 people. Of which 109 were for violation of the Drug Act, 5 for outstanding warrants, 2 for carrying weapons and for violation of the Arms Control Act, who were found with 80 .45 caliber cartridges. All detained were willing to go to their corresponding tribunals.

The 10th - Unrest In The Night

    In Santiago:

Despite the police’s preventive attempt, on the night of Monday the 10th, riots and clashes were reported in different parts of the country.

In the San Bernardo commune, after 10pm, encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) threw Molotov cocktails, rocks and blunt objects at the police, who used gases, water cannons and shotguns to disperse the encapuchadxs (hooded-ones). Encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) also carried out attacks on the 14th police station, throwing all sorts of objects at it.

In the La Florida commune at around 1:50am encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) set barricades outside the Liceo Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna (school), disrupting traffic and causing some unrest.

On the other hand, in the El Bosque commune, about 30 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) set on fire barricades with tires and rubble outside the Liceo Juan Gómez Milla (school), disrupting traffic on Grand Avenue. Upon the police arriving, the young clashed with the police.

    In Regions:

In Coquimbo, around 9pm, 30 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) disrupted traffic outside of the Campus Andrés Bello in front of the University of La Serena, damaging a security camera, lighting on fire tires and stop signs. After fighting with police, stones were thrown at cops, injuring 5 cops.

In Viña del Mar, around 2am, 15 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) set tires on fire in front of the Liceo Guillermo Pérez Cotapos (school). Upon the police arriving, stones were thrown at the police and other elements.

In San Felipe, around 00:30am, 30 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) lit on fire barricades on Dardignac St. & Duco, where a group entered, forcing open the metal curtain to the Company Fruticula "Cabrini Brothers", damaging and removing plastic containers for use in the barricades. Later at 2:30am, another group of encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) cut Route 60 at Km 35 with barricades, the route connected Los Andes to San Felipe. Upon the police arriving there were clashes with cops and a stone that was thrown injured a cop.

In Rancagua, around 1:40am, a group of encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) set on fire tires on El Sol Ave. & Uruguay, then they tried to enter Santa Isabel Supermarket, instead of clashing with the police.

In regions such as Talca, Curico and Valdivia, just after 00:00am barricades were lit and there were clashes with police. In Curico three vehicles were burned, they remained parked, one of the cars was set on fire for being stolen.

Following the clashes and riots for the pre-"11", 27 people were detained nationwide. Most accused for disorders and some for damages to police vehicles and injuring police.

    • Starting Tuesday 11th!

    In Santiago:

After 7am in rush hour traffic congestion, 30 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) lit barricades on September 11th Avenue to the east, outside the Liceo Lastarrria (school) in the Providencia commune. Upon the arrival of the police, youths threw stones at the police. Police used lots of gas and water cannon trucks to disperse the encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) who retreated to the lyceum.
The fascist mayor of the Providencia commune ordered the eviction of the Liceo (school), which was occupied by high school student as part of the student mobilizations. After the eviction, 10 youths were detained, before being released. Later the students again occupied the Liceo (school).

In the center of Santiago encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) set on fire barricades on Spain St. outside the Liceo Dario Salas (school), where clashes were produced with the arrival of the police.
After the police conducted an eviction of the Liceo (school), which was taken by 70 students.

    In Concepción:

During the morning encapuchadxs (hooed-ones) lit barricades on the northern Juan Pablo II Bridge that connects San Pedro Concepcion de la Paz, after that they fled the scene.

Later another group lit barricades on the outskirts of the University of Bío Bío (UBB) and the Technical University Federico Santa Maria (UTFSM) of Hualpén.

At about 1:30pm outside the UBB, encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) cut Collao Ave., and latter faced Special Forces with stones and Molotov cocktails.

From UTFSM also went encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) cutting with burning tires the Las Golondrinas Hualpén Ave., which generated confrontations with Special Forces.

Incendiary device located inside the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago

The afternoon of the 11th, the Gope (Police Special Operations Group, GOPE) attended the Metropolitan Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas in downtown Santiago. The alert was given by an official of the Cathedral, who found a suspicious bag in the third confessional.

Police had to evacuate and cordon off the perimeter. Gope finally confirmed that it was an incendiary device, which was then turned off and removed from the site in an explosive resistant container.

The device consisted of a canister with 5 liters of fuel and potassium chlorate with a system of electrical activation of a timer connected to a battery and a light bulb without a covering with filament to the air, in contact with flammable substances.

There were no reports of the presence of pamphlets or any claim.

    • 11 Night

As always on this day, the majority of people are looking to get home early because the public transport buses stop running when it gets dark and with the coming of the night, the beginning of lighting the streets and avenues with innumerable barricades. That's why any record or balance view will always be incomplete given the large number of sources of conflicts generated in the city.

On the other hand many people take to the streets, most only do it to look at the clashes and to share near the barricades, because there are sectors where there are no clashes but still the streets are lit.
Also among those who choose to participate in the riots, there is a variety of motivations as large as the number of barricades.

During the night of September 11 many communes of Santiago were without power, electrical transformers were attacked. The same was repeated in countless towns and regions.

At around 8pm the first barricades in the center of Santiago were registered and after a demonstration at the Victor Jara Stadium (ex Chile Stadium, in the dictatorship it was a detention center) La Alameda (one of the cities major streets) was cut with barricades, a place where confrontations with police were generated.

In the Estación Central commune, specifically in the Villa Francia barricades were set on April 5th Ave., and its surroundings, in this sector fierce clashes were generated with police where encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) used stones, Molotov cocktails and lots of firearms against police and their cars, where a policeman was wounded by a bullet. The press also was the target of attacks, where pellets hit the leg a journalist from Chilevisión.

In the town Los Nogales in the Central Station a 16-year-old was shot and wounded and was taken to a hospital in serious condition. According to accounts from his relatives those who fired were from the neighborhood and had problems with the youth.

In the town of La Pincoya in the Huechuraba Commune numerous barricades were lit by Recoleta Ave., and in the surrounding area, the encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) using a great deal of guns, in addition to Molotov cocktails clashed with the police. Also in the area three luxury vehicles were set on fire and burned, the cars were stolen from other parts of Santiago. In this district a policeman was hit by a bottle of paint in the face, causing serious damage to one eye. Also outside of the 54th police station encapuchadxs (hooded-ones), attacked with bullets the police station.

In the Peñalolen commune, in the area of Lo Hermida there were heavy clashes with police and a great number of barricades.

In the La Victoria town, in the municipality of Pedro Aguirre Cerda, clashes and barricades were constant in the sector. Also a policeman was wounded by a bullet in the leg.

In the Pintana commune a great quantity of barricades were lit, and it was in one of these barricades by Catalina Bay Ave., where a Transantiago bus from route E was completely burned, the bus driver got off the bus and the machine was used to fuel a barricade. Also the 13th police station came under attack by rocks.

During the night, in many sectors too there were attacks and looting of stores. Supermarkets losses were the most. In Conchalí a Copec gas station was attacked, destroying the base for some of the fuel dispensers and other objects were destroyed. In Santa Raquel Ave. in La Florida commune a butcher shop "Res" was destroyed after breaking its metal curtains.

According to the transport system Transantiago, about 415 buses were damaged, of which 5 were torched.

In many regions there were also strong disturbances. As in Concepcion where in the night there were several outbreaks of fighting with frequent use of Molotov’s, one of the strongest was in the city of Aguita De La Perdiz, which ended with an attack on a pharmacy and offices of the University of Concepcion. On the other hand in Valparaiso, barricades and clashes were present, from the downtown area on Argentina Ave., like in the entrance to the city Agua Santa where encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) seized barricades and clashed with police using Molotov cocktails, it was also the same place where they attacked the headquarters of UCV TV Channel.
In Puerto Montt after 8pm, some 25 encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) seized tires on the road from the international route Pto. Montt-Pargua. The route was cut off for hours and a police vehicle was stoned. The leaflets were left in place in memory of compañera (friend in struggle) Claudia Lopez.

Nationally there were 255 arrests during the night of September 11. Who were formalized the morning of Wednesday the 12th, all were released, but some with precautionary warnings.

After a day 26 police were injured including 5 in serious conditions.

A paco (cop) shot to death amid clashes

"You'll see ... All the bullets will be returned!"

No doubt, the fact under the strong day of street violence was the execution of the cop Cristián Martínez 30, motorcycle cop from the 49th Precinct in Quilicura, northern sector of Santiago.

Just after 00:00am the cop was with a squad of police trying to quell the disorders and barricades that were produced in a plaza in the Parinacota city in the Quilicura commune. Near the plaza there was a supermarket that was under threat of being looted. It was at a time when the police were receiving stones and bullets from various points, that a bullet was introduced through the space between the vest and the armpit, reaching his chest. His comrades vainly tried to transfer him to a nearby hospital, but it was in the middle of the whining and despair, that gave birth to a new martyr, number 1039 of the nefarious institution of police, who dies in defense of social peace.

The prosecutor who took the investigation sought to move immediately to the scene, but a mob of people attacked the police vehicles where he was going, forcing him to change vehicles and enter the town in an armored car with police. Agents of the Police Special Operations Group (GOPE) were deployed in the area where the officer fell to guard the research work in an environment where bullets were still being shot in the area.

Around 5am in the morning, and with the population of Parinacota besieged by police, the first raids began. Police are basing their investigation on a video, captured by a surveillance camera, where some young people are holding the helmet and shield of the policeman, tools of the cop that were left behind after being shot.

This Wednesday, a 16-year-old was arrested on charges of shooting at the bastard, to which he denies responsibility, he is saying they are blaming him only because they don’t know who actually shot him, for there were many fire arms being used in the area. The formalization hearing was postponed for Thursday the 13th, until then he will remain detained.

    Repression in Chile 1:
National Security and Edwards' Public Safety Agenda

This documentary explains how the country's elite successfully took control of the media and was able to manipulate and influence public opinion by doing so. It features a number of interviews with individuals from different areas among them a politician and author, Guillermo Holtheuer; a journalist and editor of an independent newspaper, Panorama News, Patricio Mery Bell; Activist and columnist, Ariel Zuñiga; and Mario de la Fuente a retired high ranking police officer who was detained in the '73 coup, among others.

The documentary explores the role that media mogul and CIA asset, Agustin Edwards and his Southern Poverty Law Center-esque foundation Paz Ciudadana, played in the transition from the National Security doctrine of the dictatorship years to the more polished strategy of public safety. The documentary also explores the aggressive campaigns of terror developed and brought forth by the foundation.

Through the fabrication of a false internal enemy, governments around the world have been able to demonize political dissidence and have openly waged war on the individual liberties of their citizens.

In the midst a huge uprising and the political elite have intensified their onslaught of control through their media outlets and rhetorical talking points that only look to demonize the social uprising taking place in Chile.

This documentary is a must watch for any infowarrior who wishes to see how the NWO agenda is rolled out throughout the world. Please share and repost throughout the numerous social media networks and help people understand that in Chile the dictatorship never really ended.

    Student Protest In Santiago, $hile
    Sep. 27, 2012

this report was taken from here: http://liberaciontotal.lahaine.org/?p=4567
and translated by the black nova :D

On Thursday Sep. 27th school students called a new march, which was authorized by the government, with the march ending in a sector where police repression is easy and has been a favorite place by the police to take the riots to Alameda (the main street in the capital of the city).

The march started on USACH (The University of Santiago, Chile) and after a few minutes when the rally reached Spain Ave., clashes began with the police. Alameda was cut off with fences and police cars to force the people towards Blanco Encalada (a street). But a great part of the protesters wanted to march without permission down Alameda to the Ministry of Education.

The march was split in two because of the police action, were some returned to by Alameda and by Spain Ave. In both places barricades and street fighting continued.

In the Spain Ave. area barricades were lit and encapuchadxs (hooded-ones) clashed with police, were they attacked with stones the 2nd police station on Toesca Avenue.

In the Alameda Central Station area the transit was cut for a long time as the students continued clashing with police from the USACH.

Upon completion of this new march, 21 police officers were injured, of which 2 were serious, one a lieutenant form OS9, and one with third degree burns on his right hand from the 26th police station in Santiago.

The nefarious institution said police were attacked with large amount of acid bottles, paint bombs and Molotovs also from protesters two tear gas grenades were thrown at police.

More than 100 people were arrested, of whom 70 were minors.

Among those arrested two 15 year olds were charged with carrying Molotovs the next day after spending the night in the police station. The Municipality sued them, but still both were left with monthly signing in.

Of the total detainees, all were released.

Encapuxad@s do more harm than good, for example burning those buses on August was completely stupid because it probably meant that the poor driver lost his/her job and even if that weren't the case burning buses isn't going to accomplish anything, it's just destroying for the sake of destroying which is what encapuxad@s do, I don't think they really care about anarchism, they just like to fuck shit up to vomit their anger.

I never respected encapuxad@s and after seeing one of them waving a Cra$$ flag... I like them even less.
