    New LP out on Alternative Tentacles. I haven't picked it up yet but I really like their style. Apparently there is a song raising issue with the whole Steve Ignorant Crass show debacle. Anyway, you lot have any thoughts?

    I haven't listened to the new Lp yet, but I really truly enjoyed their previous records. At a time when post-punk seemed to be trendy again, CSE do it with heart and guts. I don't really know about that song though. The members are all old-timers so they may have been pissed off at Steve Ignorant's empty spectacle...

    Bit of a resurrect. If you've not heard this album, I'd seriously recommend it. I could try putting it up on here but I think I just fuck that up everywhere. Lyrically its quite misanthropic, as was their previous stuff and musically I still hear Rudimentary Peni and Amebix/Zygote (as you'd expect) and perhaps some early Killing Joke. Here's the lyrics of 'Animated Corpse', which is one of the highlights (along with 'Suffocation' and the closing track, 'Sluglord').

    Walking corpses stagger round
    No relation to the fight once fought for
    Aesthetics to please the eyes
    A mindless shell no meaning behind it
    Your new irrelevant punk establishment
    Apolitical once thought unthinkable
    Here we are, now where to revolt?
    Those thoughts of unity replaced by vanity
    Apparent generation gap abundant
    You blindly paid Steve Crass his profit
    Who's to question? Where's the line drawn?
    Contradict flame stoked until we're gone.

    Live this lie, we die, they multiply,
    Replaced our cause, we die, they multiply.

    Lived this punk life and will die for
    Endless building of self sustainability
    The life I knew is being whittled away
    By a dignitizing use of false identity
    Contradictions plague abundant
