Re: Pussy Riot wears one of our t-shirts !

I don't see why you should give any money to them? If they are genuine, well they're getting plenty of support and money from across the world, they'd want it to go to other people cos they don't need that as well. Others locked away, forgotten about, why cant they have it? And you should see that each person that buys the t.shirt is a walking advert for pussy riot anyhow, which is gonna give them more publicity, so there's nothing wrong if you donate the money to other prisoners.

Problem is you're supporting something, under the umbrella of this site that not all members agree with. But as a community it's in their 'name'. Ivan recommended this site to me but I dunno, this issue don't sit well with me either. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but this is a different matter.

Already explained millions of time. Ain't even going to repeat myself again, learn to read, all of this have been answered. If you're not happy with it then just do like your friend Ivanovich.

Yeah, read it before, don't think your reasoning makes much sense when people aren't happy about it, and those PR people are getting tonnes of cash and don't need more anyhow. So, where do the PR t.shirts come from anyway, did you guys create them or did PR people ask you to promote them? Just curious how this came about. But anyway, with regards to nadazda, what the fuck, who cares if she stole money raised from a fake fund she set up for sick needy children in russia, or was in the employment of cops, or actively exposed and betrayed anarchists (not just voina group members), among other things, the list goes on...but that's obviously all bullshit right?

As for Ivan, well he's a bit stubborn, he prob come back.

Re: Pussy Riot wears one of our t-shirts !

That's not a reason to steal money from our clients who want to support Pussy Riot.

And the anarchists arrested here in Quebec and in Toronto G20 still need more money.

    From the NED.

No, the CIA asked us to do it.

    Source = ?

    :lmao:
    More bullshit please.

So she's working with the russians cops AND the CIA ... AND she's fighting against putin ? Wow awesome. She's also a reptillian i suppose ? I bet the rothschild gave her money. She's an illuminati ! Yeah i swear, someone told it to me on Facebook, it must be true. The solidarity must end now !

No, if you've read it on the internet, it must be true. No need to question yourself.

Dude, I don't recall ever saying she works for the CIA, nor did I tell you to steal money. As for questioning stuff, yeah, I don't like relying on flock mentality to find truth.

Can I just reiterate this. Ivanovich, I hope you'll read this. I understand your scepticism, I just don't agree with it. However, at no point do I think this needs to be a divisive issue. Especially, in such a final manner. Can we just agree to disagree and move on?

As I understand it: The logic is the t-shirt has been associated with the band because one of them wore it at the trial. It would appear disingenuous (maybe?) to have none of the 'profits' go to their cause. I think that line of thought is reasonable enough.

I can't understand the point of this argument, or whatever you call it. There is no reason not to support Pussy Riot. And Ungovrn. already said the money isn't only for them. And please provide sources when you're claiming something, we really don't like rumors, especially when it's about someone we 'care'.

Re: Pussy Riot wears one of our t-shirts !

Talk about anarchist unity ! We're divising ourselves because we want to stay united and express solidarity with our comrades. What a joke.

Yes exactly. And people will buy those t-shirts for the sole reason that Pussy Riot wore it. They buy it because they want to SUPPORT the band. If the money goes to ourselves, i almost consider it as scamming people and ripping them off. That's why i felt better to give away this money.

First i thought about giving everything to Pussy Riot but Ivanovich was rght when he said they already have enough support and he was also right saying there are millions of others anarchists needing our help. That's why only 50% will go to Pussy Riot and the other 50% will go to other anarchist causes.

This way, buyers will still support what they want to support, and WE at APN and NGNM will also support what we want to support. Everyone is happy.... or not.

It's ridiculous to fight each others over a solidarity issue. This whole witch hunt is also fucking ridiculous. All anarchist comrades need our help and no one deserve to be a political prisonner for expressing freedom of speech, no matter what error they could have comitted in the past with other activists who obviously have something against them and have a biased opinion. Who the fuck are we to start a witch hunt and a stalinist trial ?

Re: Pussy Riot wears one of our t-shirts !

i agree with ungovernable all day. this argument is wicked petty. we're having a couple shows to benefit pussy riot soon, but we've also had shows to benfit the fight against mountaintop removal and to help infoshops and everything from the local animal shelter to friends getting busted or robbed. your choice as to whereyou put your money is yours so do what you will. as a site, they've decided where to send funds and you can choose to support it or not. not a big fucking deal.

if you think pussy riot is a buncha art student attention hungry crap thats fine. i would say the same about a lot of Crass's artsy noise garbage. yeah that's a different argument altogether and not even close to my point. fuck my point. do what you want and so will the rest of us.

'Orthodox missionaries' track down Pussy Riot supporters

They call themselves “Orthodox missionaries,” and they’re looking to pick a fight with anyone who supports Pussy Riot, the anti-Putin punk rockers whose trial recently made international headlines. These Christian extremists even film their attacks.

At the end of August, two of these “Orthodox missionaries” filmed themselves ripping off a man’s T-shirt, which was adorned with a picture of the members of Pussy Riot depicted as saints. Following the attack, which took place on a train platform in Moscow, one of the assailants crossed himself in front of the camera and brandished the ripped-up T-shirt, saying, “This is what will happen to all those who commit blasphemy.”

The two assailants then explained their act at length:

“A man was walking in the street, wearing this T-shirt… So we caught up with him near the train that goes to the airport… I asked him, ‘Are you going to stay in Saint Russia? … Your T-shirt is offends my religious beliefs.’ In fact, it’s offensive to all Orthodox Christians. I told him I was going to call the police, pursuant to article 282 of Russia’s criminal code which prohibits ‘incitement to religious hatred.’”

The man speaking to the camera goes on: “I am sick of seeing these people; if they’re not punished, it’s going to get worse… We’ve stopped a crime from being committed today.”

It is difficult to gauge how many people actually belong to this group of extremist Orthodox Christians. However, the online debate surrounding their videos reveals the deep tensions caused by the Pussy Riot trial in Russia. The band’s three young singers were convicted on August 17 to two years in prison for “hooliganism” and “incitement to religious hatred” for having sung what they called a “punk prayer” in a church. Their sentencing divided Russian public opinion, some saying the punishment was completely out of proportion, while others, particularly Christian Orthodox and nationalist groups, continue to express outrage over Pussy Riot’s stunt.

The punk band’s detractors gathered in front of the tribunal on the day of the verdict; the next day, “Orthodox missionaries” attacked Pussy Riot sympathisers in a café. Then, on August 27, members of this same group interrupted a tribute to the punk band at a theatre in Moscow, yelling at the public and at journalists present: “Why do you hate Russia?”

Following the trial, T-shirts in support of Pussy Riot made their appearance in the streets of Moscow and other Russian cities. One such shirt is illustrated with one of the group's singers depicted as the Virgin Mary. The shirt's designer was fined 1000 roubles (about 25 euros) for “offending religion.” In March, he had already made posters with the same image, which he had put up in the streets of Novosibirsk. After Sunday’s attack at Moscow’s train station, the artist declared that he would offer new T-shirts to all victims of “Orthodox missionaries.”

HA yes they keep referring to them as members of a punk band, i can't find any mention of them as anarchists in any of these fast food news outlets…

heres a trailer about them with daryl hannah narrating it, i hope there is at least a mention or an explanation in the flick as to what anarchism is and the critiques that come out of anarchist writings that pushed them to say what they say and criticize the russian state…just saying
