And yet another anarchopunk gem unearthed from obscurity: the 1987 demo tape of Arrogance who brilliantly said "End this farce, become a force". Now if you are not convinced by such a powerful figure of speech, what will?

The 12" of Welsh feminist metal punks, Life Cycle has been posted. Somewhere between Frost and late Deviated Instinct but with a female singer. \m/

Two new (well... old really) entries on TSN.

First is Zealot, an obscure 80's thrash punk band from England and their one and only demo. Think Concrete Sox and Septic Death but with the Post-Mortem singer on a couple of songs. Second is a compilation EP called "No Frontiers" that was released by Loony Tunes in 1989 and included Debauchery, Advance Warning, Bad Attitude, Terminate With Extreme Religious Propaganda (running for best name for a band in the upcoming "Terminal Sound Nuisance cheesiest punk phrases", Chaotic Subversion (last year's winners) and Neighbourhood Watch.

Crust historians will rejoice at my new post: the "Hiatus: a Peaceville sampler" compilation Lp from 1988 with rare tracks from Deviated Instinct, Axegrinder, Doom, Sore Throat, Atavistic, Electro Hippies, Decadence Within, Insurrection, Extra Hot Sauce and Disk-Drive. All this with artwork and an epic review from Beckingham Palace.

New epic post about the mighty Axegrinder. Their 3 demos (a studio one and two live ones) and a live recording from 1989. Crucial, but maybe not so well-known stuff we're dealing with here. Again spiced up with a witty review from yours truly.

The superb Atavistic 1986 demo tape called "From within" has been posted. Expect early Heresy/Lärm/Siege whirlwind hardcore with anarcho-punk roots.

And yet another stormer with the live Ep of the mighty Concrete Sox, called "Lunched out", recorded at their in 1989. And they call Billy Milano a "fat fascist wanker". Priceless.

The 1987 Ep of Heavy Discipline, "Liberation of economics", has been posted. Expect great thrashy hardcore punk between GBH, Anihilated and The Disturbed with a strong anti-capitalist sentiment.

The first Ep of the excellent Toxik Ephex from Scotland, entitled "Punk as fuck" is on the blog. Incredibly tuneful and catchy anarchopunk from the 80's.

Well, you had better be quick on this one, since the mediafire link has been disabled, probably on demand from the band itself... The record has been out of print for 25 years and I gave it a dithyrambic review (I love really Toxik Ephex) but apparently my modest post was somehow harmful. :'(

The two demos of Haywire, an English anarchopunk band from the late 80's, have been posted. Rare and raw recordings between Concrete Sox, Dirge and AOA.

That's mad. I mean, I can understand with easily obtainable stuff but the excellence of your blog is it's stuff that's obscure, a bit special. Damn shame.

I know. It really depressed me when I saw that. Toxik Ephex do have a double-cd discography available but it has hardly been distributed at all and if anything I think my post would encourage people to get it as soon as possible. The worst is probably that the band didn't even contact me. They could have left a comment asking me to take out the link, but they went straight to mediafire. :(

However, I have also had very positive responses from my posts. A guy from Decontrol left a very sweet and informative comment saying that he was happy to see the demo finally on the web 20 years after it was recorded. He is apparently compiling a complete Decontrol discography with videos, rehearsal tracks, the whole deal really.

A special treat today with three lives from the late 80's: Civilised Society? and Deviated Instinct live in Bradford 1987 and Rhetoric live in Yarmouth 1988. Old school crusty punk.

Live performances of two genre-defining bands at the peak of their musical power: Antisect and Sacrilege. It was recorded at the Mermaid in Birmingham in 1986. Rough sound but plenty of great songs make up for it.

To close my American week on an epic note, here is the first demo of Resist, recorded in November 1989. Most of the songs would be released on the first Ep but some of them did not and besides you have three live tracks at the end of the tape.
