Then, you say Crass are your friends. Read it: http://www.crassunofficial.com/

That's how Rat and Vulture treat their closest "friends". These people are scum, their only friend is cash. You are nothing to them.

That's the best you got, is it? I mean, if you gonna go for a bit of abuse, you could at least make it original, you know, a bit of wit, perhaps?

I am sure you was the one who deleted my access. But there is a difference between you and Crass, you did it on background the discussion same as fucking fascists, Crass explained on their website that they apologise for deleting lies which commes from your rumour story. Sry, I can still see difference between you and them. You are fascist not them.

No, i'm not the one who banned you. But you're clearly a troll calling everyone fascists and you don't have anything to do with this website. Get the fuck out.

So, Crass can censor everyone just because some people brought up FACTS of what they did against this website, but on the other side we can't ban trolls who insult everyone and see fascists everywhere... wtf ?

I'm completely on the admin's side. Some people's use of "fascist" is ridiculously loose

    fascist?

learn the differences between sharing information, lying - and hiding those lies, infringement of other persons freedoms and respect, and censorship. And I bet you still haven't read crassunofficial - that by the way is a collection of emails and letters exchanged between crass members, made public by Pete Wright. Then come back and tell us all what marvelous people your best buddies ratters and bulcher are.

This only proves that you can't idolize anybody, for they will always let you down.

So now they're like the Sex Pistols, preaching anarchism but without practicing it, at least with the pistols you knew what you were getting, but Cra$$ has a lot of people fooled into thinking they're THE anarcho-punk band which really pisses me off now, I can't help but feeling betrayed (and I'm not even an anarchist anymore!) and stabbed in the back.

Still, not everything about Cra$$ is horrible, I mean if they hadn't started the anarcho-punk movement many of the more legit bands would probably not even exist, right? Anyway I have posted this information and a link to this thread on a chilean anarchist forum so hopefully the word will spread a tiny bit at least. I also posted it on my facebook but none of my contacts cared lol.

But hey can anyone answer me this... do Crass members even know about anarchism? I mean, have they read Bakunin, Kropotkin, Proudhon and the rest of them? Does anyone know? Cause I think I read somewhere that they didn't.

On the other hand... I think that more than anarchists, crass members were closer to being "art punks" or something like it, now I don't have anything against arty punk, in fact I like it, but maybe Rimbaud and company should have stuck with that "label" rather than calling themselves anarchists when they clearly weren't aiming for that.

As for me, I deleted all my Cra$$ music and probably won't ever listen to them again, hopefully there are real legit anarcho-punk bands out there that I can listen to...

Lowtide, they were not really anarchists at the start, but when people started taking them seriously, they went along with it. I imagine they have read that stuff, for what it's worth. I haven't read much on it. Waste of time, I think, it comes from within yourself, not from others. Sure lot of people would disagree, though.

Silly, you're not supposed to fight Nazis. You can't do any fighting, or else you will turn into a Nazi. What you do instead is sit the Nazi down and play a bunch of Cra$$ records for him. Then he will magically change and give up being a Nazi for good! ;)

I have to say I kind of disagree with some aspects that you talk about "selling out". I agree with the topic that Crass, or whoever is in control of it, have definitely betrayed the scene, but there are some aspects that I disagree with. First the whole point of anarcho-punk bands is to create support for the movement right? If so surely the best way to do this is to sell out and sign to a record label The Sex Pistols may have "sold out" but by doing so they spawned more followers of anarchist ideas than bands that never "sold out". You can't have a movement that denies itself the right to recruit members. We should hate Crass because they turned around and used capitalist greed against the community that made them great in the first place, not because they are one of "them" now. True "anarcho-punks" should sign to record labels to further the movement but NEVER NEVER turn their backs on the community.

In my opinion that's still selling out.

But some bands, like Chumbawamba, managed to do this without being too greedy. Unlike Crass, they gave away their profits and they supported file sharing. They even encouraged people to steal their albums from shops or just download it.

You don't need capitalist support to "recruit members". Anyway, do you seriously think that some kids will just turn out anarchists because they saw a band on MTV ? Even if they did, it would just be to follow trends.

But honestly i don't see the point of this debate. Crass didn't sell with a major label. They sold out because they betrayed their own ideas. They're the ones who chosen to write "pay no more than $3" on their albums... Now they are just using copyright laws against punks and selling overpriced merch while making tens of thousands of dollars of profits with gigs. That's definatly selling out since they're in only for the money.

Btw, even ex-crass members admitted that their lyrics aren't meaning anything today. It's outdated. It's not going to "recruit members".

Also, maybe that was true before the internet, but it aint true now. Now you can spread the word, music, video, costs next to nothing, to millions, without selling anything. If this was their aim now, they would hardly turn on APN, a site that was actually helping to promote them (for free, might I add) by having their material up here. No, all the recent gigs and reissues and shit has just one aim, making as much money as possible before 'Crass' dies. Ha, I think they are too late. Southern is going down.

Also they did not start the anarcho punk movement. It was already there before Crass. Crass just had the money and contacts (thanks Mr. Ratter) to promote themselves. Not only that, they then take on other bands, try to rob them of their identity, and stamp Crass Inc. on them. All just a fucking franchise, really.

I'm usually not keen on cumbia, salsa and ska but I liked them, thanks for the recommendation!

Is that so? Well that sucks... and you say they did not start the anarcho-punk movement, then who did? I would very much like to know.

Maybe that's what they were all along... and I REALLY don't like hippies, bunch of morons who never achieved anything.

Oh wow i did not know that.

but then again i never really paid much attention to what they did in their personal life. When i got into them they were like all ready over, so i was like WHATEVER haha :D

I think a lot of it does come from within or feeling it, like finding the way, or stumbling upon it, a way of living. Music & books, I sometimes feel they are like a finger pointing at the way, we get caught up in the finger and not what its point at... the way...

Have you ever read The Tao Te Ching? Ivaovich? it a book on the art of living...

But if your living it and know the way... why read about it when you are living it ;)
