Here is a list of beer I have determined to be definitely vegan, since alot of beer isn't (whether it's fish collagen used in the brewing process or what have you). Anyone else care to share their favorite vegan alcohol?

    Amber Ale
    Belgian Ale
    Brown Ale
    Budweiser
    Colt 45
    Full Boar Scotch Ale
    George Killian's Irish Red
    Michelob
    Pabst Blue Ribbon
    Red Legs Scotch Ale
    Revolution Beers
    Rock Art Brewery
    Rogue Rogue Irish Lager (non-cask)
    Samuel Adams Boston Lager
    Scotch Ale
    Scottish Ale
    Squatters beer

Budweiser might be vegan but it sure as fuck doesn't need to be on this forum, they support multiple right wing causes...

Of which this is but a tip of the iceburg...

Under that stance, we might as well not use cell phones, since AT & T as well as Verizon donate to the Republican Party and Sprint is ran by a Republican. Also, local vegan shit is too expensive, so if I buy shit I can afford and still smash up the properties of those places I don't agree with it, I'd say it's fair. Fucking elitist. Victimizing the working class for what's available to them is going to get you nowhere and makes no, fucking, sense. Start a boycott, petition or smash up a Budweiser brewery. but i doubt you would tell me the same thing about my cell phone, if I used it to film cops while at the conventions coming up. Victimizing working class people, again, makes no sense if you understand how capitalism has control of the situation.

also, dont take that personally, but it just pisses me off. boycotting something sounds like such a liberal fucking position, and a privileged, liberal position at that one. not one I'm used to hearing from anarchists. it sounds reactionary.

You missed the point. He could at least have given an alternative beer that was vegan and was known not to fund right-wing causes, and not some over-priced, local brewery nonsense. That's like attacking working class people for eating meat when the government pumps tons of subsidies into the system to make meat cheap despite it requiring more work and resources to produce in addition to it's cruelty. For the record, I've engaged in boycotts myself. I do, however, think it's a weak form of direct action as opposed to smashing shit up or whatever. So yeah, give me an alternative, but regardless, shit is quite hopeless in capitalism. Businesses have control and we don't know everything about who funds who.

Surely, veganism is the ultimate boycott? If you're avoiding certain beers because of their use of animals it makes sense to avoid those that have dodgy political practises. For example, bacardi is a vegan rum but I wouldn't let that shitty company's products pass my lips.

A boycott of a company is not the end of the politics, it's a consistent part of the politics. Anyway, in the UK, it's easier to say which beers to definitely avoid:

    Carling
    Fosters
    Kronenbourg
    Guiness
Pretty much all major bitters (John Smiths, Boddingtons)

In fact, with ales you are best going with either Samuel Smiths or Shepherd's Neame (except for the honeydew beer, obvious reasons). However, the Shepherd's may only be okay in bottles, I'd have to check.

    Good source: http://www.veggiewines.co.uk/popularbeers.htm

Also in the UK we have the animal free shopper. An easy little reference book for the cost of an expensive pint in London: http://www.vegansociety.com/afssearch.aspx
