I'm from Portugal and I can say from first-hand experience that while it may be decriminalized, going downtown, paying a fine, talking to a shrink and having your record (and at times your face) fucked up for a damn spliff is NOT in anyway fair. Legalize it already!

 

Maurijuana will anger capitalists, it's hard for corporations to control maurjiuana growth because its so easy to grow urself.

Legalization of cannabis/hemp would solve many of our societies/world's problems. It's a shame that we've let the corporations, politicians and media conceal the truth.

 

decrimination of the use helps a lot and keeps more people alive - but i'm not sure about complete legalisation:
the drug-production is already in criminal corporations hands and the kartels organize the worldwide trade despite the "war on drugs".
and i wonder if legalisation would just end up in a new market and products like this:

Yeah, isn't it completely asinine? This year the US government nearly shut down because the budget could not be balanced. Public school budgets are going to lose billions of dollars in federal funding AGAIN and even more promised funding will be deferred. The legalization and taxation of cannabis would greatly stimulate the economy. Though some may oppose marijuana use but there is no denying that the legalization would solve many financial problems. Sure smoking too much pot may be counter productive, so is over eating, working out too much, watching too much tv etc. The point is anything in excess is potentially harmful, which should be totally obvious. Over consumption of water can be fatal, should water be prohibited? If people don't want to open their minds to the truth behind cannabis that is fine and expected. Still, occasional use makes the horrors of reality more tolerable and helps curb depression and insomnia without transforming yourself into a victim of the Rx industry.

In regards to use, does anyone have experience with concentrates? The reason I ask is I usually smoke hash and sometimes just weed and I decided to try a hit of some snot from the hash bar. I asked the cashier about it and he said "It's really good stuff", so he fixes it up and I take the rip. On the inhale it wasn't bad but the exhale was brutal, my throat and lungs felt fried! I took a drink of water and skated home. It hit me like ten minutes later and everything became unfamiliar and I was lost, then paranoia and hallucinations set in. Long story short I got home and it was even more intense, like an acid trip and it lasted five hours. I wasn't really prepared for this experience and it was extremely menacing. I gained some valuable insight and introspective thought through all of this but I don't see it as a mellow enjoyable experience. Has this happened to anyone else? Keep in mind I am underplaying this a bit, it hurt to even drink water and the trip was comparable to some heavy LSD experiences I have had.

 

It should be pointed out that some of the people pushing to prohibit alcohol were people involved in organized crime, and made much more money selling their wares post prohibition.

 

THC makes your mucous membranes swell up - similiar to an infection with a common cold - so they get dry and become more sensitive...
back home in germany rumors going round that genetically enhanced cannabis plants - with an increased THC-content get sensitive people into trouble and almost psychotic states of mind. because most people are unprepared for the experience, the trip has a high chance to go bad...

Yeah, pretty much. Individuals develop their own relationships to marijuana. Motherfuckers who just blaze hard and listen to dubstep and play call of duty all the time would probably be doing that anyway. It just sucks how it is so entwined with capital where as otherwise it would be a very powerful community building force. I really want to learn how to grow.

Yeah, it's an easy enough thing to do but I don't really got the space for it right now.

 

Legalisation and taxation would NOT solve any problem. It would fund the military industry complex and America's war machine. Why did the American government almost go bankrupt? Because of the prolonged Middle East wars, the war on terror, the colapse of the banking system, etc. Would you want ANY portion of your pot cash going to support those activities? I like smoking pot with a clear conscience. And this is not to mention the MASSIVE amount of money the DEA and police forces receive from pot sezures and the sales of the sezed assets.

Here in BC, the legalisation of pot would DEVESTATE the rural economy. Sure we have a few big grow-ops but in my area the majority of growers are in mom-pop type garage grows with a few bulbs bringing in a couple of grand a month. If pot were legalised the entire industry would be regulated with the Gov issuing licenses to grow, similar to the way alcohol is treated. The end result would be the majority of the mom-pops shut down and the creation of a highly regulated industry, with companies like Coors, Busch, etc controlling the majority of the supply. I prefer our current lack of enforcement here in BC. Simple possession will get you a slap on the wrist, confescation and maybe a fine if your an asshole to the cop. Growing less than 100 plants is considered personal use which would get you a fine and the loss of your equipment. None of this is in legislation, it just comes from a resonable attitude.

 

I hear what you are saying and find it very interesting. Here in California however marijuana legalization and taxation would be a very beneficial thing. It would reduce drug trafficking crime and violence astronomically and would most likely fund stuff like bike paths, state parks and green public transport.

 

Taxation? Anarchist? What!
