Hmm yeah just tested a couple of links... looks like 50% of the links are dead...

mediafire probably got scared because of megaupload and started deleting files like other webhosts... but i guess we all saw it coming

Primeramente no mames carnal, porque chingados vamos a borrar nuestros propios links despues de tanto pinche trabajo que nos cuesta mantenerlos? Por favor compañero piense lo que dice...

Another reason is that many of the links were shared from our friends blogspots...like Crust Or Die, Enemy Of The Music Industry, etc. etc. and those blogs have been systematically deleted in the hundreds by the powers that be...fuck them! Instead of complaining and accusing us which is a bit ridiculous, just post under the dead links and we will do our very best to find an alternate link...have patience, it is getting harder and harder to find underground recordings because of all the bullshit paranoia from the majors and pressure from the Malgobierno.

My comment wasn't directed at you guys. It was directed at mediafire. I've gotten a lot of great music from this site and I really appreciate it. If I find a link that needs fixin I will let you know.

this is why I downloaded as much as I could from this site, woo-, knew all that time was worth something. now that I know we've lost 50 percent of the access to the music we previously had i'm also gonna take a day to back up all my music to an external hard drive this summer some time, just in case. I have maybe half a terabyte of music alone, and a huge database of anarchist movies also. About got my 1 terabyte hard drive filled up.

Well one last thing I'll say about this subject and be done with it, the original files that Ungovernable had uploaded back in 2009 have slowly been disappearing over time and we have replaced many many links and upgraded the topics as well, as early as 2010 I noticed about half of the links needed replacing so I honestly believe it's much less than 50% of the links that are gone today...

Don't worrys guys, if direct download disseapear we will just find another solution. We're already starting to make plans in case of Mediafire close. If this is the case we will probably just give up on the direct download system because it became unreliable. We want a long-term solution.

Right now we are thinking about two possibilities.

First option and probably best way to go would be to build our own torrent tracker.
Second way would be to build our own file hosting service, but that would work through FTP so access to uploads would be private.

Advantage with FTP system is that it would be the easiest way for users to download music. Just click the link on Anarcho-Punk.net and the download starts with full speed. It would be even easier than Mediafire. Disavantage is that we may have bad surprises (example if there is a lot of downloads we will ruin ourselves paying bandwidth). It will also take like 2 weeks to move everything if we need a new host. Also very complicated for backups.
Best way is probably to go with a torrent tracker, a system that already proven it's reliability. That's a system that's here to stay and would be less trouble to manage. Problem is that of course people needs to share the torrents or else nobody will be able to download. We could solve this problem my renting a Seedbox (a very fast connexion that will be used to seed the torrents. Big movie torrent trackers are working that way)

Only problem : will cost a shitload of money. Need to expect at least around 200 to 300 euros per month in total (also includes the cost of Pirate-Punk.net and QuebecUnderground.net)

For now it's still just hypothetical, but better to get ready right now because the end of life of direct download is obviously expected... Would be a good idea to start discussing about alternatives.

Just received over 50 warnings on my e-mail from mediafire, saying they deleted a shitload of files on my account.

Files include many albums by Naked Agression, but also obvious copyright-free stuff like Crass, Oi Polloi,

It's not the first time files get deleted from my mediafire account, but usually mediafire ALWAYS forward the DMCA takedown notice. In other words, i can see who sent the complaint.

This time it is OBVIOUS that mediafire is just going on a random delete-spree

All Naked Agression albums are gone for sure. I'll make a list later (they sent me 1 e-mail for each download deleted so i have to open each of them)

Mediafire is new MPAA target. That's why they're going nuts. The end is coming...

    NEW UPDATE

Mediafire just banned Pirate-Punk.net from their server without any reason or warning.

Now every time we click a link on pirate-punk.net leading to a Mediafire file, they will automatically display a message saying the file has been deleted. BUT if you copy the mediafire link in your browser and you access the file directly (without clicking a link) you will be able to access the file.

This means they are just blocking all incoming traffic coming from Pirate-Punk.

They will probably do the same thing for Anarcho-Punk.net soon.

    FUCKERS.

If you need something you can always try isohunt.com. They are still working. I just got an Aus-Rotten album from there. Or you can go to torrents.to. That is a huge hub of torrent sites. Type in what you are looking for and you can look through multiple ones.

Isohunt is one of the next target of MPAA.

Anyway, fuck public torrent trackers. We should open our own torrent tracker if we want to take the torrent ways.

Ok another update guy. I recommend that everybody who gets files deleted on mediafire SEND THEM COMPLAINTS !!! I was actually surprised to get an answer to my complaint in less than 24 hours. They have now unbanned Pirate-Punk.net from their website. Finally looks like it's an understanding company. Maybe they're not that dumb, they're just scared by the recent closing of Megaupload.

Anyway, here's what they answered me:

Seriously, why not set up a anarcho-punk.net/torrents?
    That would be awesome!
