How do you feel about these companies literally selling poison to the people of the world.
I know many punks smoke, almost every one i personally know (including myself)
I have tried to quit before, but I am always around it. I really hope to quit soon...
I just do not understand how anyone that considers themselves an "anarchist" could smoke and be fine with it.
Massive capitalist companies, slowly killing you = what cool punks do?
    Discuss.

Also i love vegans who smoke. when cigarettes are tested on animal and every pack bought funds cruel and unnecessary testing.
i my self am vegan and would never smoke. If you do smoke and say you are vegan, well you really aren't.

or when i see bands that talk about animal rights and/or anarchism and/or anti-capitalism yet smoke... makes no sense to me.

I smoked for about 7 years... but have been cig free for almost 10 :) I hated that i was paying these fatcat fuckers to slowly take my life. Not to mention it really is a nasty habit, smelly, makes parts of your body (and insode your home) discolored... not to mention kissing someone who smokes :p In all honesty, I started smoking because i thought it would make me look more fearful and badass, and to rebel, but now when I see people smoke, I think they look stupid. Especially kids. But in defense of smoking... it did make high school a lot easier to take in. But yeah, the worst is a pamhandler that smokes. Like i would give any money for anyone to buy cigerettes. (or alcohol... but that is a different thread...)

I don't really care either way, to be honest. Most of the tobacco I smoke (I smoke hand-rolled cigs, not packaged cigs) I earn from mates by doing chores or something for 'em... lol.
I am quite simply addicted... and actually liking it that way. I get kind of cranky and piss people off if I haven't had a smoke in a few hours.

Cigarette smoking is lame. People think the world is its ashtray and throw cigarette butts everywhere. Big Tobacco owns like 90 percent of the cigarette population in the US. And 90 percent of punks smoke their products. Its one of those things that shows that people cant escape corporate america. I dont know about Europe and all and if theres only like 1 or 2 companies who own most of your cigarettes but here in the US its like this.

If you smoke thats cool and all, i dont judge its a way to release pressue i guess, but dont expect me to roll down my window in the winter if you wanna have a fag. And i think its also harsh that i know people who have smoked for 40 plus years and have nothing more than a little high blood pressure and some fake teeth (but that could be due to anything) and also k now someone who has emphysema and never smoked in their life. And neither did their parents.

Don't really know for cigarettes but tobacco itself comes in numerous brands, both very good and very bad. Some examples of what I've smoked the last few years: Ruba, Zilver, Lookout, Van Nelle, Drum, Brandaris, Lucky Strike (they also have tobacco, not just cigs), Pall Mall (same as Lucky Strike), Tobacco Farm, Nelson... and the list goes on and on and on.
There's just shitloads to choose from, then again, most people here smoke rollies instead of cigs.

My friends smoke, but I choose not to. My parents have smoked for as long as I can remember, so that's why I choose not to, it's not my thing.

you all say big companies are in a sense addicting us to there products( coke, mcdonalds etc.) and cigarette companies are quite literally doing the same to a much higher level and most people don't see that, which is why i completely stopped smoking just like how you/I might not go to certain places you deem to sell out to the public. their just another company making billions and people cant stop giving them their money. much like gas companies. real anarchists shouldn't smoke.even rolling tobacco companies are the same (not saying you aren't an anarchist cause you smoke but just an idea)

I'm pretty sure all those "Brands" mentioned are owned by Brittish American Tobbacco. One company.

The tobacco industry makes 1.2 billion dollars every day. Killing over 1000 people in that time. It's pretty disgusting. Quite literally the worst of all corporations if you ask me.

I smoked for 5 years, and I very recently gave up.
Took over a year to get my shit in gear and fucking quit.
It feels great to be done with cigarettes. :)

Very good point on the big companies/anarchists/veganism.
Admittedly, it is something that I completely overlooked.
I suppose when you're a slave to the stuff, and it's basically keeping your sanity, what more can you do?

There is nothing that can match a hard-packed cron bong after a long day.
Blazing is the way forward :lmao:

while in theory I agree that smoking weed is fine, and a better option then cigs, the problem comes with how u get it. You either buy it illegally and end up supporting gangs and a criminal hierarchy, and thugs who peddle other drugs to the children, or u buy it leagally with a prescription and your money goes directly to the government... the best option is to grow it yourself so know one profits off it... though that is not an easy option either, due to most of the world it is not legal to grow it...

I think the boys from pennywise sum it up pretty well, you can't step out of your door without inadvertently supporting one industry or another, so you gotta choose your battles, or cease to be.

Im not walking up to a coke dealer who kills random dudes for money to get weed. Im not getting it from a government agency.I get weed from friends and others (sum which grow it) who are just as poor as me and the MONEY i give them GOES TO THEIR FOOD, GAS, BILLS ETC. ETC.

Speaking on this... later today im going to pick up 2 o`s from a friend who grows it. Hes going to use the money that im giving him (well im being fronted now, but when i make up the money) to help pay rent/food etc. The money that ill make in turn selling it, will go towards paying rent and my getting my girlfriend something nice because shes taking care of me after my surgery. So tell me, how are the people buyin from me, or the guy im buying from is supporting a criminal "hierarchy" ?

Apparently they aren't. you seem to abide by the grow it yourself thingy i said, or buy it from those who do. That's the way to do it.
