You create laws, you create criminals. And though I see some of you arguing that there are some good cops, that the streets may be even more fucked up without them, the fact remains that their ultimate purpose to protect property, which by large, belongs to the wealthy.
I'm not sure if the picture above this was meant as a joke, but cops are almost always there AFTER the crime has been committed. My close friend was sexually assaulted by a police station, was knocked unconscious, and no one called the cops -note, this was in broad day-light. She ultimately woke up to be dragged through a parking structure, before she fought back, knocked him out, and got the fuck out. She called the cops later, and they filed a report; I'm sure she feels a lot safer now. That's just ONE story. Still, the thing most people seem to forget about crime, is even though most of may only see the the killing and the robbing on the media, most crime is actually committed by white-collars, the heads of companies, but since they're pretty much in bed with the government, you hardly see any of their bullshit being headlined.
These people take so much from the poor, leaving them with either letting their families starve or turning to crime to make ends meet, and then wonder why they don't just get a job, when those same people have been fired and can't be hired.
I know I'm cutting short, and skipping over a lot, but basically... cops, if they do anything beyond fucking with the lower class, only act as a band-aid. They don't solve anything, only treat the symptoms. They don't care why you're protesting, that you know your rights, all they do is point to a sign that says "This is private property."

the pic is not entirely a joke - extremist commissar vassily pjotrewich and the rest of the gang are part of a neighborhood network dealing offensively with the "band-aid-illusion" problem. some time ago he and some of his mates took sides with a drunken guy just and only taking a bath in a public well on a lazy sunday afternoon - and just for that he was roughed up in public by a number of cops - and the whole bunch of people was arrested , including 4 little wee-girls. the bathing guy ended up in the psychiatry, but vassil got a bit vindictive and the strory ended with the removal of the racist head honcho of the local cops - to bad that he doesn't took his underling-accomplices with him...

after a woman with immigrant background called the cops one night because her husband trashed and threatend to kill her, but was told "i'm sure you deserved to be beaten" by the friendly officer receiving the call, the people around here organise some kind of emergency call for domestic trouble - call an anarchist (most of the people involved aren't anarchists, just people).
if it's necessary a volunteer group (rotating system keeps them from becoming kinda private cops) will show up and clear the situation adequat to the necessities, they have a safe room too for victims and kids not able to stay safe at home, they keep contact with a local safe house for women in case the trouble gets out of hand.
no fucking friendly officer necessary... because of the power of the people!
hard drug pushers get some attention and are asked to leave, shoplifters get an interview with the shop owner asking the "aid" group for assistance and several rotating people who give their opinions about the case, trouble between yoofs are dealt with the same way and prevent youngsters getting in trouble with "the law" and become criminalized.
after the local FnB-giveout enjoyed the attention of officers starting to harrass the guests and activists, a horde of 80 people showed up at the police station and demanded their ID's to be checked - lotsa work for the understaffed crew of protectors of the law - and they already have learned-by-non-doing to behave a bit better and keep distance to FnB-giveouts - just to avoid having no coffee-break.
there are no id-checks on the streets anymore, no harrassed immigrant kids only playing football somewhere on an empty parking lot, no razzias in the tube station - because that would provoke the next mass-visit of the concerned citizens anxious about if their id's are right...
if the cops increase tensions the tensions will "increase"...
it's already becoming routine, and the atmosphere around here is much better than in the rural area from which i come from - there it's still "yes sir/no sir" - or you spend half the day at the police station to be checkend for the xxxth time...
because the majority of people aren't militants, no direct militant action happend by now, but i think they are becoming much more self-confident and brave, taking their things into their own hands, a promising progress.

i agree with most of your points except:
but "crime" isn't created by law, but by social and economical unequality - if you are poor and take what you need you become a "criminal"
    - but a corrupt celebrity of the system, a cop trashing or murdering a defenceless victim? ...get's protection from "the law".
the capitalist system produces this unequality and keeps it up via the state to enforce the function of the rat race:
go for it, bend down, offer your dignity and sweat climbing up the ladder, even on the expenses of everybody else - or face the consequences. oh, yess, we are hostages, too bad that we have to pay the ransom too - and get cheated day by day.
too bad if your starting position isn't that good, because your family wasn't lucky - bad luck - and even the university is only for people who can afford it - but you can always apply to become a cop...
and protect those who own something to protect, including the big fake band aid keeping the game running - the state.
i'm don't envy "the rich", i don't blame bank bail responsible for the crash of the illusion that working in capitalisms last convulsions will get you enough for a comfortable living - this whole occupy-something-bogeyhype will melt away if we sent the guard at the gates home - if necessary with force.
who gives a shit about who owns something, if there is noone left to enforce the claim of someone no longer high up on the ladder?

i do blame the individual cop, each stupid enough to become a collaborator of the system against all reason and decades of well documented social struggle & the class war in general. every one applying to become a cop or a soldier makes a wrong decision, repeatedly again and again each morning dressing up in uniform and reporting for service - to do the job their masters gave them.
no, i don't hate them but i give a shit about what happens to them if they have to face the consequences of their individual chronical wrong decision to collaborate with a murderous system keeping the rat race running.
i don't wanna fight the individual cops, in the past they broke several of my bones and i had to spend some time in jail, but thats yesterdays papers and i'm quite healthy right now. maybe i carry some grudges - but thats why i try to trade each blow with a blow.
if they attack me or the people - or get into the way the day we crash the state and the system too - bad luck...
and after the smoke settled and the fires went out, i guess i'll volunteer to care for the survivors, but now i give a shit about the presentation-bullshit of some wannabe-rebels sending the hyped cannon fodder "non-violent", "non-aggressive" and non-reasonable right into the hospitality of state justice - along with the people who take their fate into their own hands and are sold to the cops to keep the media-image clean and allow the cravers for attention to make their profits.
we should organize, prepare and start to practice each time the cops do their job for their masters, not at least because we can stress the structures of repression and show that they are vulnarable and far from being invincible. beating them back on the street, liberating places for hours and days show that successful resistance and finally the big crash are possible and this encourages people to claim their living back and take it in their own hands again.

I'm not a smart man but I can try to tell you why I hate the pigs. Really its all because they're the foot soldiers of the government that keep control over the streets and can do whatever they want with the excuse that "they're just like us they're just doing their job!" but the truth is they are nothing like the average citizen. They're free to do what they want, assault who they want, beat who they want, and harass who they want without any repercussions. For every cop that arrests a pedophile, murderer or rapist, there are 100 more arresting non-violent drug "offenders". They are the ones who control us on a physical level. They are the enforcers of the fascists that run the country, that's why I hate the cops, and I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.

I don't mind having people around who know whats going on. Like, someone who hangs around town wearing high vis, knows where the station is, knows how to deal with people, is switched on and good at dealing with problems. Troubleshooters I suppose.

I fucking object when they start picking up batons and tazers and start assaulting and detaining and even killing people based on arbitrary authoritarian bullshit.

Given that most things we call "crime" are caused by the environment that people are brought up in, backed up with no correlation between police powers and crime rate, we do not need them in an anarchistic society. The junta as it exists now? Yes, that needs them to stay alive. We don't.

Are the prisons not being privatized in the U.S.? If so, would that mean capitalizing off the imprisoned?

I mean, I don't hate all cops. In fact I think its great when I cop does something good like say, get a rapist or murderer. The issue is so many cops are here just for money and not for the best of humanity. No different than government. I kind of picture it like a fiction movie...The government and law makers are the brain-y criminal masterminds and then the cops are the mindless thugs who do the dirty work.

All of us can be the superheros out to save the day :lmao: \m/

Talk on Bakica, talk on...as for me, I know my enemy, and a friend of my enemy is my enemy as well...by the way it's not just about "mindfucking" you, you are being filmed and recorded every time you speak to an officer at least in most police state countries.

Punkmarr77 well said & spot fucking on Bro. I think N.W.A. said it best when they said "Fuck The Police!" :lmao:
& oh course Bakica I respect you & your view on this but I totally agree with Punkmarr. WE CAN NOT TRUST THOSE FUCKS. & YES THEY DO KEEP RECORDS & TABS ON SUBVERSIVES! MY ENEMY IS MY ENEMY, IT DOES NOT FUCKIN MATTER IF YOU ARE A POLITICAL or PERSONAL ENEMY. I HATE YOU & IT SHOWS.... & I SURE AS HELL AIN'T GONNA BE ALL CHATTLY FUCKIN KATHY WITH YOU!! REMEMBER IN A DOG EAT DOG WORLD, KINDNESS IS CONSIDERED WEAKNESS. AS AN INDIVIDUALIST ANARCHIST,THIS IS MY FUCKING WAR, & I DO NOT EXPECT OR SHOW ANY FUCKING MERCY!! & let me be clear crystal clear, this is NOT an attack on other Anarchist schools of thought. I have stated this else where on the site that I respect the different takes on Anarchism. I believe the only way to get shit done is an Anarchism without the isms approach, we have too many political enemies to be divided. But hey there are some fellow Anarchists I hate. Not any on this site here but some I have known personally.....
