Yes you are right. I'm new to PE. But I'm helping out there now and that's what I intend to do. I know about the sorted history between PE and folks here regarding digital downloading. I just don't care. What happened in the past had nothing to do with me. If you want to dislike me because of previous history regarding said issues that is your right. My hair is too thin to grow a mohawk. I'm over weight and I have a round head. Feel free to use that against me too. ...oh and sometimes I leave the toilet seat up.

Truth is though we are living in a tech savy age and you can get pretty much anything you want online. Music, movies, software programs, educational degrees... we've all got different opinions on the subject and I'm not a cop. I'm not in a position to comment on what happened before. I wasn't there. I'm just a person trying to help support bands in the scene. I'm assuming the people who put the music up online did so initially because they liked those bands and wanted to spread the word. That's what I want to do as well. That's why I'm helping out at PE. And while I understand there are people who will not "pay" for said art there are still punks who collect vinyl. I am one of those punks. I like listening to records. I like looking at the cover. I like reading the liner notes. I like collecting different color wax. Listening to music digitally is often free, easy and convenient. I know, I listen digitally a lot but I still prefer using my crackly old school phonograph when given the chance. And I know there are other people out there who share my passion. Bands still want to make records. PE still wants to help bands make those records. Not because we think we can get rich off of it but because we believe in the bands and think their records are worth putting out.

Although Profane isn't giving out free vinyl we are trying to keep the cost as low as possible. With the exception of the Amebix laser etched 12" (which was stoopid expensive to make) most of our LPs are currently going for $7, direct from us. If you buy in mass quantity (for friends or distro) the price drops to $5. We're totally raking in the fat cash there... ha.. ha. It costs money to make the records. It costs money to ship the records. It costs rent money to store the records until they get mailed out. Putting out records is not a cheap thing to do. Still if you look around you'll find that PE has some really fair prices. The cost of most records have gone up in the past couple of years. The cost of most PE records has come down. Like I said we're not doing this to get rich, we're doing this because we are passionate about it. We believe in the scene. We believe in the bands. We are trying to find ways to make it work. At the same we need to make expenses back so we can keep doing it. Just like there are bands out there now that we are excited about I'm sure there will be bands playing ten years from now we will be excited about as well. I just hope we will still be around to work with them. Until that time comes we'll keep doing what we can.

Hate if you want. That's cool by me. I don't hate any of you... But I do want to get the word about these bands because I think they deserve it. So if you'd let me keep posting on this board I would really appreciate it!

Thanks! I appreciate your understanding and willingness to let me be apart of this despite previous drama. Out of all the message boards and online communities of punks it seems there is a lot of commonality between the interests of people here and many of the bands on PE. I'm hoping we can repair the rift and move forward as friends. If that sounds cheesy forgive me I just woke up. But that's kind of the angle I'm coming from.
