Made in the USA tear gas and bullet shells in Tahrir square! How dreadful! Dead protestor body being dragged through the square by a millitary armed by the United States. Sickening.

International Libertarian Statement of Solidarity with the Egyptian popular Struggle

On the weekend 19-20th a new wave of mass protest all over Egypt broke out because of the systematic violence of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) against the Egyptian masses. People are tired of its dictatorial behaviour, the use of extreme force against protesters, the military trials that in 10 months have ended up with 12,000 comrades rotting in jail, their censorship, the torture, kidnappings and selective murder of activists. People are tired of the military council hijacking the banners of our revolution to continue the same old dictatorship through other means. People are tired of the sectarianism they promote to divert us from our real fight for justice, equality and freedom. [العربية] [Castellano] [Italiano]

Imperialism has dictated an "orderly transition" to democracy in Egypt. The military have shown themselves obedient in implementing this design. The people in Egypt demand an end to dictatorship and the uprooting of all the remnants of the hated Mubarak regime. People in Egypt want to feel, at last, that they have a country run by themselves for themselves.

The anarchists in Egypt, and the international solidarity movement with the libertarian revolutionaries, wholeheartedly support the just struggle of the Egyptian people to continue their revolution and deplore the massacre of protesters that shows that the SCAF is no different to Mubarak.

Unlike other sectors that hold illusions about bourgeois democracy, we believe that democracy and the State are irreconcilable. Real democracy was put into practice by the Egyptian people when they formed their popular committees and ran their own communities, their own towns, their own affairs from the bottom up. We call to strengthen these popular committees, we call to decentralise the country, to make every single political position recallable by the committees if they fail the popular mandate.

We also believe that the yearning for democracy is incompatible with the capitalist system, based on the elite control of the economy and the means of life, which condemn 25,000 human beings each day in the world to die of hunger. Real democracy is only possible when all of society democratically runs the economy and the industry of a nation. This requires collective ownership of land and companies and self-management by the workers and peasants themselves. If the few control the wealth of the world, the few will keep having power over the majority. The free market is a more subtle form of dictatorship.

Therefore, we call for the trade unions and the workers to take a leading role in the current struggle, to occupy their workplaces, to turn them into workers' cooperatives and to prepare for the full self-management of the Egyptian economy.

The crisis of Egypt will not be solved with half-hearted solutions. We need the commitment of the youth, of the women, of the working class in order to uproot the sources of tyranny and violence in our country - the capitalist system and the State. Let us all unite under the banner of the struggle against military rule, but let us defend a revolutionary, libertarian option for the Egyptian masses.

Egyptian Anarchist Movement Emerges with Wave of Firebombings and Street Fights

A black bloc marches in Cairo tonight, preparing for confrontations with security forces near Tahrir Square on the even of the second anniversary of the revolution.

Also see: “Revolution, Elections, and Betrayal: Hard Lessons from Egypt“

Anarchists have been present in Egypt before, during, and after the revolution, but until today, they have yet to organize a mass grouping under the banner of anarchism. The Ultras of Egypt’s football clubs have for years been associated with anarchist ideas and actions, and they are widely credited with having initiated the level militancy that brought down the Mubarak government in February of 2011.

Last night, anarchism left the graffitied walls, small conversations, and online forums of Egypt, and came to life in Cairo, declaring itself a new force in the ongoing social revolution sparked two years ago with multiple firebombings against Muslim Brotherhood offices. Later, the government shutdown the “Black Blocairo” and “Egyptian Black Bloc” Facebook pages, but they were soon re-launched.

“Wait for our next attacks as we respond to the closing of our official page…” they posted in a statement posted online this morning (translated below).

Today, the black bloc made its first mass-appearance in Tahrir Square, and, shortly after, firebombed the Shura Council (Egyptian Parliament), tore down a section of the protest-barrier walls leading from Tahrir Square, and, with others, engaged in fighting against security forces.

These statements and actions are in preparation for tomorrow’s second anniversary of the revolution, and for what some are calling “a whole new level” or protest in Egypt.

Anarchism and the black bloc concept has grown in recent months across Egypt, Stemming from various anarchist grouping/circles that coalesced during the revolutionary period. A massive distrust among the youth of all political parties, a sharp critique of the role of religion within governance, and the inspiration of anarchist resistance around the world (largely symbolized by the late-2008 revolt in Greece) have helped it catalyze.

    d

Below is the statement of Black Blocairo in regards to the removal of their websites, their firebombing attacks against government offices, and their calls for revolt:

“Yesterday and after we finished our event, we met some of the revolutionary movements and we decided to unite together in our next attacks, hence we did our first two attacks, as we told you yesterday:

1- Setting fire to Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) online office.

2- Setting fire in the Ikhwan office in Al-Manial street in Cairo.

And we announced our revolution since today in Al-Tahrir Square untill Egypt and it’s people get their rights back! Life, Freedom and social justice!

    Black Blocairo, The Hooligans

Wait for our next attacks as we respond to the closing of our official page…”

    WOW

First i should say i haven't gone through this thread... but i will

I remember being glued to news reports coming from the middle east, and after a month or so of watching them, i was like fuck, i was being schooled on how to go about conducting a revolution in the middle east, and fuck other people were too...

    and they organized....

I remember seeing some video clips in the first couple of months into the 3rd or 4th uprising in Syria and seeing in the news reports people protesting and one or twice i spotted BLACK FLAGS with nothing written on them, and i was wondering who they were and what was going on...

In the last couple of days i've ran across you tube videos of a black bloc from Egypt...

Black Bloc formed in Egypt among protests

In Egypt among the political turmoil of that tyrant Morsi a black bloc has formed. these brave men and woman who stand for freedom from a corrupt Religious state. It has formed to protect peaceful protesters from Morsi police and Islamic militias who threaten freedom. I respect these people, They are willing to die for freedom. They are willing to use violence when faced with violence. This is proof that under strict Islamic rule (Which Islamic clerics says should fix everything) that youth is willing to do whatever it takes for freedom. I know that this is not an anarchist movement there but its still something. In a world full of war, exploitation, and corruption there are people willing to fight for change.

So many reports coming out on the Egyptian Black Bloc...

    I found this intresting:

And last night i saw a news report on American USA public television News Hour TV Show, a segment about violence in Egypt and the black bloc...

They say that the "Black Bloc" has said "the time of peaceful protest is over it's time to organize ourselves into cells..." The video is below VVVVV

    [video]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXHhNUGuvtc[/video]

I guess peeps realizing that their "revolution" was used to change leaders and then everything back to same old same old, and talking about "job creation" and the "nations debt" and above all that the same old players: neo-liberal economic policies that were in place before the "revolution" and the needs of "the world bank" & "the IMF" and international capitalists, and people want more than a fucken job!!!!

Black Bloc and 'Hooligans' to head to Nile Delta city to 'avenge'

    Saturday 2 Mar 2013

Radical opposition groups 'Black Bloc' and The 'Hooligans' announce they will head to Mansoura city in the Nile Delta where clashes have intensified between protesters and Egyptian police.

Some of the Delta cities including Mansoura are into their sixth day of civil disobedience to protest against President Mohamed Morsi, which has escalated to clashes with police, leaving one dead and dozens injured in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A statement on several Facebook pages under the opposition groups' names reads that they will go to Mansoura on Saturday "not [to participate] in a civil disobedience, but to protect [people's] blood and avenge the bodies that were dragged on the ground.

"We promise you that you will see a different [approach] from us... but you are the ones who forced us [into this]."

"You will see among us youth who will go to death, like you rush for life; for us martyrdom is sacred... Wait for [our anarchy] soon," they warned.

The Black Bloc first appeared in January as a radical opposition group of young protesters on the second anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

They participated in anti-government demonstrations and were known for blocking roadways and metro lines.

At one point, Prosecutor-General Talaat Abdallah ordered the arrest of members of the group as part of the investigations on "sabotage, rioting and intimidation of citizens."

The clashes broke out in Mansoura after riot police reportedly fired tear gas at protesters at the Daqahliya governorate headquarters.

The calls for civil disobedience have led to protests and clashes in Egypt's Suez Canal cities, Port Said, Ismailia and Suez and recently the Delta cities of Mahallah and Mansoura.

    Taken from here: http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/65908.aspx

NOTE: i think i posted this because i love the headlines title :D
