Only getting little bits of info here and there, but:

Seems to be lots of anxiety over the violated rights of windows, either way, the dreadlocks singing kumbaya outside the ports were causing more financial damage than the ninjas. 'Militancy' fails when yr out-maneuvered by fucking hippies (and/or those militant enough to spend their time and energy at the blockades, etc). The reported occupations of foreclosed properties (and saying: 'we're gunna reopen them to provide services, etc) sounds/ed well exciting.

sorry, this phrase is a bit off:
I think sometimes a bit of smashy smashy is justified on the basis of moving outside the terrain of A to B marches, to 'give teeth' to, or 'radicalise' a demo or whatever. A call of a general strike is one already 'radicalised', thus methinks militant action within a general strike comes from actions to sustain it, generalise it and fight against its recuperation, but whatever its a tactical issue.

The General strike in Oakland is the first general strike in United States for more than half a century. This is good; America needs more general strikes because America is the home of the corporations which rule every thing because the free market system is against regulation of the corporations and the corporations rule America; the leaders of America are puppets used by the the corporations to explore company interests. The corporations rule America with an iron fist imposing wage slavery and horrible working conditions on the workers. The companies will do anything to crush the striking workers because when the workers strike it is bad for their business; they will try police, agent provocateurs, and of course force to crush the strike. GENERAL STRIKE!

may i interrupt yr beautiful post and say it is not a case of 'non-regulation' of corporations, but rather regulation of a system so as to maximize* their interests.

*My answer may suggest 'regulation in the interests of 'non-corporate'- capital' would be an alternative, tis not. The current 'corporatism' is but an indication of the current (or now somewhat post-?) cycle of accumulation. In other words, 'corporations' are but the current 'evil' of capitalism, only** global anarchist communism solves this issue.

In short. General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike! General Strike!

** i don't think the revolution may necessarily call itself 'anarchist communism', but whatever.

    general strike???
gentlemen, this is what a general strike is about:
seven thousand people closing down the fifth largest port in the us for a couple of hours of just another happening - and after that going home again after declaring "victory"?
5 % of the oakland labour force taking a day off, 180 teachers disappearing from the schools where students held 99 minutes "school strike" in solidarity with the occupied movement?
bummers still much too well off and chickenhearted to confront the cops but attacking less remote controlled and conditioned activists expressing their opinion about private property?
time for another display of gobbledigooks "la la lution"?

Yes, one should be clear: There was no 'general strike' in Oakland. Nevertheless, a general strike would be fucking rad, the fact that one was called in and of itself should be cause for, both, optimism (as somefiknk called by thousands of previously either disorganized, or, at best, liberals), and as a celebration based on a strategy (towards its achievement we should be organising).

don't know if i feel that optimistic if those bumbs responsible for the whole "we are..."-mess get more and more desperate and take off completely from realitiy - the "movement" is just a loud and ambitious minority tossing around terms and tactics, strategies and what ever else on hand - already very similiar to "official" politix relying on sheer polemics and the re-interpretation of political terms and history, always claiming "victory", main aim: keep the media occupied - while still bouncing around in the big gaping vacuum of "capitalism isn't that worse..." - if one get's a comfortable share inna comfortable way - doublethink anybody? o_O

Occupy Oakland was dismantled yesterday, tonight Occupy Wall street has been dismantled too, this is definatly an organised government attempt to silence occupy movement

Police officiers are using pepper spray against peaceful protesters, journalists arent allowed to view or photograph the scene, TV helicopters are prohibited from entering wall street air space, NYTimes journalists are being arrested, city council members are being beaten up and bleeding, police are using bulldozers to destroy campements, they destroyed the library and burnt down 5000 books, they are using sound cannons against protesters (a military weapon used at G20), they closed down metro and brooklyn bridge to prevent protesters from calling support.... THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE.

Fuck peaceful protests, i hope the indignados become the revolted, fight fire with fire, peaceful protests proved once again that its useless and state proved once again that they wont listen to peaceful protests. Stop fucking camping, get on the streets and fight back, non-violence is not about not fighting back. Fuck this police state.
