Occupy Wall Street movement is a fucking joke, when it started in NYC it was good and deserved the name of "occupation" but here in quebec it's fucking ridiculous...

I went to a small protest near my city, it was pathetic, only a few people sitting in a park, i got the fuck out when i saw anarchists hanging around without protesting against protesters who brought nationalist flags and patriot flags. It's bigger in Montreal and Quebec City, but bigger doesn't means better...

Now in montreal it's also ridiculous, there is supposedly a general assembly but it's never used... For example above all protesters there is a big patriot nationalist flag waving around and it was NEVER voted... There is also the conspirationist freaks with the zeitgeist propaganda crew, and this was also never voted, neither was their big banner accepted by a general assembly.

Now in quebec city it's even more ridiculous, the organizers decided to organize the protest in a park where the punks are always at..... So now the whole fucking gang of punks from quebec city think they just became big revolutionnary anarchist for doing the same fucking thing they are doing each day : sitting in a park and drinking beer. They're just going to the same place they're always at, and now claim to be "occupying quebec"... And now these god damn stupid lazy lumpen-proletarians will think they did something big to fight the system so they will feel less ashamed next time they miss a protest and stay in their park to drink beer. Fuck off.

Wake the fuck up, sitting in a god damn park is not a fucking OCCUPATION, neither is it a revolutionnary act, i wouldn't even say this is a protest. This is not disturbing, this is not significiant, this is boring, useless, meaningless and the government and medias doesn't give a shit about it. Let's go occupy parliment, occupy a bank, protest on the streets, block a street or something. The definition of an OCCUPATION is to occupy a place where you shouldn't be at. Sitting in a park is not a fucking occupation. That's like claiming you are occupying a squat when you have the right to be there or you bought the building... Occupation is synonymous of illegal. At least in NYC their presence is disturbing to the system, and they tryed to block a bridge. THIS is an occupation.

Another thing, everywhere in north america the fucking politicians are trying to reappropriate the movement. It looks like the leftish reformists are jealous of the right-wing taking hands on Tea Party so they wanted their own little event... Looks like the democrats want the Occupy Wall St movement to be to democrats what Tea Party is to republicans.... Oh well Michael Moore will be happy, he will think everyone answered his call in his last documentary on capitalism....

You are right. Sounds like the punx are slipping in your area. Occupation of a park does not come that easy every where though. Some places are having to deal with being brutalized by the cops. A march through your tourists shop/bar area might gear toward a better direction. Maybe an art project at the park for the kids involving those flags and some black paint. Suggestion, tell 'em how you feel. The worst that could happen is being ridiculed. The best might be changing your local protest.

Many people have already told protesters in montreal that the patriot flag and the zeitgeist banner should go through general assembly approval, but it seems that a lot of protesters doesnt care about it... Also many nationalist protesters are very aggressive, i received some threats for a comment of a picture on facebook where there is a patriot flag waving around.... They are clearly trying to appropriate Occupy Montreal movement, even at beginning they made pressure for the name of the event to be French only (nationalists here are very anglophobic and ethnocentric especially on french language)

As for protesters having trouble occupying a park well at least people will hear about it unlike a sitting in a park.... And personnally, if i would have to be confronted with the police, i'd prefer to have trouble with the police for occupying a significiant place like a bank or parliment rather for having trouble only for being in a park, not worth it......

The occupy Riverside in California is rather small, but I still went for a couple nights. Cops are constantly harassing people though, and we can't set up tents. But even if its small, it's still worth going, it lets them know your presence.

ivan marovic spoke recently to the assembled masses of the 99% in new york, adressing the leaders of the "leaderless movement" with the advice "not to get buried in micro-management" - somewhere on the youtubes is a vid of his stage act - this is what he did in serbia after us-co-funded otpor supported the fall of milosevic:
their center in belgrad (CANVAS) still offers "civil resistance" trainings and - suspicios suspicious - media counselling... not only in serbia and the quality of the training is reported to differ greatly, sometimes it's just quantity instead of quality to produce lots of eager foot soldiers putting out stickers...
at least in eastern europe some of "soros men" working for the colour revolutions made quite a career and ended up in posititions of politics, economy and media, soros was active in hungaria too:
    the outcome:
    viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6764&p=46589&hilit=arrow+cross#p46589

some anonymus-dissidents started to worry about marovics staging and george soros - magyar-american business magnate, financier, philosopher, philanthropist + 46th richest person in the world according to forbes - public statement of his solidarity and understanding for octopuswhozzit - and began to research the funding of the "movement" - an abit strange idea in the age of sham companies and gov-funded NGOs and of course the project is already taken over by some conspiration-nutters, claiming that the canadian adbuster magazine (practically the craddle of the "festival of frustration") is funded by soro's open society management.
if it's really that way, i guess we won't get to know it - but this mysterium of lotsa overzealous halfwits trolling forums everywhere in the net, promoting non-somethings and populistic slogans while being barely able to explain what they're babbling about, really seems to be something odd.

Please quote the entire sentence, i clearly explain it is a joke HERE IN QUEBEC i even said that it is a shame to the movement because in the USA it is a lot better, we should take example on them because HERE it is a joke

    Quote:

Yesterday they had a general assembly @ occupy quebec city, guess what is the only thing they talked about ? FACEBOOK !!!! The general assembly was all about facebook, they were wondering if they should ban some users, censor debates and promote administrators with new rules..... The real fight isn't on fucking facebook....

So when i see that, i guess i am right to say the movement is a joke here...

    indeed they do:
electrician, devout catholic and staunch opponent of abortion lech walesa was unofficial collaborator to the polish secret service for state security between 1970 & 1974, his codename was "bolek", he reported to SB Capt. Henryk Rapczyński and SB Capt. Edward Graczyk and reportedly received substantial sums of money "to calm down the atmosphere at the shipyard where he was working after protests were bloodily suppressed.
walesa himself finally admitted that he had signed a "commitment to cooperation" with the secret police Służba Bezpieczeństwa in 1970 (February 2011, interview with Monika Olejnik, News Agency, 21 May 2009) - a bit odd that he threatend to go to exile from poland several times while he was still a politician and attacked for his "past" by his former trade union allies.
In the 1990s the satirical polish song, "Nie wierzcie elektrykom" ("Don't Trust Electricians") by the band big Cyc became a nationwide hit in poland...
after getting the nobel peace prize for his role in "the downfall of communism" he became president of poland 1990:
after falling from grace with his former friends from the solidarnosc movement walesa brought up his own political party:
the nonpartisan bloc for support of reforms (Bezpartyjny Blok Wspierania Reform), abbreviated BBWR, was an officially nonpartisan organization (but, in fact, a political party) affiliated with lech wałęsa. it was established in 1993 and in 1997 became part of Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność.
it was founded to continue the traditions of marshal józef piłsudski's (dictator of poland after a coup 1926) pre-war Nonpartisan Bloc for Cooperation with the Government (Bezpartyjny Blok Współpracy z Rządem), which likewise had been known by the same initials, BBWR.
after electoral losses in 1994, wałęsa issued a statement that invoked comparisons with Piłsudski, who had become dictator of poland:
"when the time comes to introduce a dictatorship, the people will force me to accept this role, and I shall not refuse." (czech president vaclav havel called this "distant chauvinism")

truly a good choice... o_O guess he's one of those 99% too?
    getting desperate?
from o-whatt'sit.org - coming along with statistics about the education and annual income level of - guess who?

and the leaderless movement is getting desperate:
afraid that the flock of sheeps lost in the great wide open isn't that choosy which sheppard to follow?

    @ Nike Mihailowna:
good worx, didn't know that walesa finally confessed his time with the polish agency, now he's living in the US, travelling around and selling his own legend... thanks to his sellout with the balcerowicz plan poland is doing quite well, wage levels and workplace costs are lower than elsewhere in the EU, so many poles still emigrate to work in germany or france, but the polish rate of economic groth is the highest - quite an example, isn't it?

    for a laugh:
early in 1990, when the german re-union was on the way, walesa opposed the united fatherland and said in an interview for the dutch magazine Elsevier, that germany should be wiped from the maps in case that the germans would ever destabilize europe again - quite a promise, best idea he ever had, but sadly i guess we will have to do it ourselves - carrying the ernst-reuter-medal (2009) from the berlins, walesa forgot completely about us... :( :( :(
