"Are you interested in hearing about styles/genres or specific artists?" I assume you don't really care.

folk music, woody guthrie, phil ochs, david rovics, billy bragg, mischief brew, anything in that vein dont care much for mister dylan. maggies farm was a good song though. punk ramones, blatz, germs, though to be honest i don't listen to a lot of non political punk that's kind of what drew me towards the genre in the first place. pre punk stuff like the stooges and most of iggys solo stuff same goes for lou reed and the velvet underground and television and to a lesser extent david bowie.
british invasion stuff is great too. like the animals, the zombies and the beatles.... yeah i typed it.
ska, rocksteady, and reggae are good if you're in the mood

Other than anarcho-punk and punk which has either anarchist or "anti-system" lyrics I do enjoy alot of a-political punk (i.e pogo,oi! and the like). Thrash metal/Crossover,Viking Metal and Black metal are great too, and once in awhile I'll lisen to cat stevens or whatever.
