What is the point of marching in this day and age because of your sexualality ?
if a non minority's have these types of rally , it would be seen as sexcist/racist ect .........
I think its offensive for any group of people to promote there way of life in such a way , why cant we be who we are , without having to divide and lable ourselves in so so many different ways , why cant we stand together ?

Why in this day and age are we still persecuted for our sexuality and gender identities? As long as this is the case we will continue to march.

We are a persecuted minority and we have the right to protest against it and resist social, state and church oppression.

because we are what we are in so many different ways we stand together, march together and celebrate diversity together - and just take a look at the counter-protesters and their "traditional family values" - don't you think this minority is sexist and racist?

President Klaus remains adamant in that he “feels no ‘pride’ about this event.” In a remarkable display of political doublespeak, he says that he respects homosexuality but not ‘homosexualism.’ What exactly is homosexualism? According to Mr. Klaus’s record, it’s one of those fashionable modern “-isms” like feminism, environmentalism, and liberalism, (and communism, which is confusing because I thought communism was about conformity and oppression and he seems to be a-OK with that) that threaten to change our way of life. Sign me up! He’s also accused the Embassies who signed the open letter of overstepping their boundaries; “The ambassadors should know that the debate in our country was not about whether or not to permit this manifest action of homosexuals but about its public support by a prominent member of a right-wing conservative party, the Mayor of the city.”

In his attempt to reframe the bigger issue of homophobia as political support for a single person, the president is doing his best to erase the problem rather than address it. His attitude towards homosexuality–”I don’t care what you do in your own bedroom, but keep that shit to yourself”–is nothing new. It’s the same message we get from some of our families, our schools, strangers on the street and bullies. It’s why pride festivals are so important. Pride reinforces the idea that queer people are normal and are valuable and, despite what the Mr. Klaus believes, deserve to be."

And I take it you are in the UK and from your past comments see you have a lot to learn about global movements.... ;) People are still being murdered around the world for their sexual preferences.

I take it you know shit all.

Homophobia is rife in the UK. Try walkng down the street wth a partner who happens to be the same gender as you without getting stared at, yelled at, spat at or having your jaw broken because "it serves you right for being a dyke".

Didn't you read that I didn't agree with the bigots? Sad reality we live in, but bigots tend to control most of the major things around us in some way or another. They are obviously the ones with the problem, too bad that problem is what makes laws.

I'm Bi for me it's not about wanting to be seen as normal, i really don't give a shit if I'm normal or that I'm "sinning" or whatever, I just want the same rights everyone else has. I feel the same way about looks, I don't want you to agree that Mohawks tattoos are normal and that your ok with it, just fucking deal with it. Bugs me that our society is so closed minded, who cares if this guys has snake bites he can perform open heart surgery hire the fuck! Just like race and religion, sexuality and appearance do not affect a person's ability or morals or anything else for that matter other than who they love and what they look like.

nothing, it's just a trick to keep up the order of society and the image of "being a real man", besides a bit of hetero-male voyeurism, threesome-phantasies and dumb ignorance about the absence of something like "real women" only waiting for "real men".
Looking at the map I see most "dark brown" (as in death penalty) countries are islamic and at least in Egypt and Saudi Arabia casual homosexuality between travelling males isn't unusual, the roles of "male" and "female" part are a bit strict and mostly the older partner takes the "male" part, but even me, the long-nosed ugly stranger from afar was quite often offered "to have a little fun" at night while waiting for the bus next morning. Bystanders notice what's going on and watch - but noone takes offence.

keeping the males in line because only "true men" can be abused to keep deviants and people-doing-what-they-want in line?
what would happen to the social structure if marriage and family loose their importance... because males free themselves?
