I understand what you are saying...but being ineffective or off message and not training for actions and things like that aren't going to help empower anyone. If you only do something maybe once or twice a year and don't do anything inbetween that would help you prepare for these sort of events, how can you expect to take on cops or "smash a window" or something like that. It's not like because we are anarchists or radicals we magically know everything and can do everything.

I have been to hundreds of demos in the past few years (I have lost count) and I agree we don't have reactionary skills, that is why we need to train. All these "crusties" and "punks" who are somewhat politically aware should continue learning and growing as well as training. Shit a lot of them are travelers and could easily get some skills together for actions from people who have done this shit a while and then go from city to city and do trainings and skillshares all year round.

We have to look at the cops and the military and see how they do things and copy that shit for our own uses. That is how you get good at something you practice it a lot and go through training or "school" for it. We cannot just assume we can do everything right. You have to train even for simple things like walking together as a group. People even after it was explained that you have to go as fast as the slowest perysn in the march still had problems marching as a cohesive unit.

Here are some zines/manuals about crowd control, one is the US Military CDO guide which is used by basically all cops for larger protest type situations like what we saw in D.C. and then the second guide is more from an activist perspective:
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/3169515/Civil ... Operations
    http://www.anti-politics.net/distro/2009/ccr-read.pdf

I am not trying to disempower but empower people to train and study and show the flaws in our movement that we have the power to easily correct. We can win if we want it but we have to prove that shit!
