just making a point about the conformity within every culture, and the hypocrisy in punk rock.
conformists preaching and claiming non-conformity. bugs me.

LET'S BE DIFFERENT.... together, in the same way, with the same hair, and the same pants, and the same jackets as each other.

I think you've got to be talking a little facetiously here. Surely you can see the difference between someone promoting certain bands (PE being such an example) and someone trivialising bands and turning them into a fashion. No one's going to take issue with a sincere profiling of anarcho-punk bands but this sort of bullshit is insulting to both the original intentions of those bands and those who are, in any way, a part of the anarchist and/or punk culture. Wearing 'anarchist clothing' or punk logos when you don't give two shits about what these things represent will and should piss off the people that do care.

Also, not sure where you stand but you're also quick to judge people with hostility. No need.

(Also, though I sometimes wear band Ts, I certainly wouldn't say I dress 'punk' or alternative. I don't judge those that do either although have ended up calling a couple of people out in the past for wearing anarchy A Ts or patches who don't know the first damn thing about anarchy and don't care to know. Those people are fucking morons).

OH MAN YOU SO NON-CONFORMIST BRO! Do you wear clothes that look like clothes other people wear? Do you like bands other people like? Do you do things other people do? Everyone conforms to something, I just choose to only conform to things that I love and think as I do so. And while I do dress all Crust/Anarcho Punk-like that doesn't mean I'll wear everythig associated with that; I don't wear bullet belts or studs/spikes for example.

Also, I'm sure you listen to plenty of bands with members who wear black and are just as patched up and long haired as me. So kindly fuck off, you goddamn asshole. There's nothing worse then idiots like you in the Crust/Anarcho scene. A true poser is someone who doesn't care about the message behind the music but tries to be all punk/crust/whatever OR someone who only conforms to a subculture to be "cool"...I don't conform to the extent I do to be "cool" or "hip", I do it because it fits ME, and I believe in the message behind the music as well, same reason most crusties, charged punks, etc. live the way they do.

Lastly, it's really fucking hypocritical for you to lash out against me for how I dress after ranting against Punk elitism a few posts back.

living the life doesn't mean dressing the part.
you're all offended because you know I'm right.
you sew a patch on your pants to fit the image, not because it means something to you. your beliefs and values aren't displayed when you sew a doom patch on your jacket. sew a circle A or E... i get that. sew a band name? for the image.
i'm guilty of it too, we are all subconsciously influenced by our surroundings, which is why I have learned to accept people for the way they dress, no matter what.
if they wear a band shirt, but hardly know the band, who gives a fuck?
    punk isn't judging people.
YOU SHOULD ALL KNOW THAT. and this is my whole point, you are all supposed to be above this sort of behavior.

we're the ones who got bullied growing up, because of the things we wore, and now we pass judgement on other people because they WEAR certain things? it's so backwards.

My intent wasn't to criticize you for wearing a certain thing, but to make you see how absurd it is for punks to criticize people for conformity, or for dressing a certain way. Those sort of actions are the OPPOSITE of what most message driven punk bands would sing about.

This is all sourced in my frustration with a certain aspect of the punk scene.
I get rejected and disrespected by punks who probably listen to the same bands as me, because I don't look like them.
I wear regular, plain clothing and they judge me for it and reject people like me.

Punks have a hard time finding a place in society? Imagine not being accepted by both the society you hate, and by the punks who are supposed to be above that nonsense.

The issue is misrepresentation. You seem to be ignoring that fact. It's not about fashion as such, but the trivialisation of politics and political music into fashion.

Fair enough, though I wasn't critiscizing Lil Wayne for conformity, or dressing that way, I criticize him for being "fake" about it.

Hey man I disagree with that side of the Punk scene as well, if someone's an anarchist Punk but doesn't dress in a way typical to us, that shouldn't have anything to do with how others treat them; you don't dress punk, I do, doesn't make either one of us any better or worse then the other.

    This.

Well, that's different. Those punks are idiots. It has been a prejudice I have infrequently faced myself. However, most punks that actually know me consider me more 'punk' because I do not follow punk fashions or trends. The sort of prejudice you are facing is almost the reverse of the scenario we're talking about. You are being misjudged because you do not follow a trend. People such as Lil Wayne and Lady Gaga are being judged because they are creating a trend - significantly, one that could be harmful anarcho-punk music and culture.

    We've done this before people...

Fashion is stupid unless it's only done for yourself,
Stud everything on your fucking body if you want to but don't do it just cuz someone else will think it looks cool

Lil wayne will not be accepted in the punk community,
not because he wears a fucking jacket that someone told him to wear,
but because of his Capitalist, Sexist, and Homophobic words/actions

this would NEVER harm the anarcho-punk music and culture. if this culture grew, the world would be a much better place.

Perhaps exposure to the vest his stylist chose will affect his outlook. Maybe he'll put some anti-cimex on his gold plated iPod and be inspired by it.
    The vest will free weezy.
