He probably doesn't give a shit, and peta just lined his pockets for doing that ad. That or he probably only cares about "cute" animals.

    Is there a  smiley?

So? Would it be better if he was doing PSAs for the beef industry? No point in complaining for the sake of complaining.

yeah i found that pic from PETA website doing a random search....

Well it's funny because first it's obvious that justin bieber doesnt care and isnt really an animal right activist, and second because PETA is bullshit who only care about using celibrity to advertise for their bourgeois animal right activism.... I found it funny when i saw that they even used justin bieber for their ads...

I guessss it will turn his teenie bopper fans in the right direction. You always need gateway influences to get you interested in something.

Yeah, PETA is sketchy, but show me an animal rights organization that mainstream people will actually pay attention to. Something is better than nothing. And think of PETA as a gateway of sorts, other animal rights groups are more likely to get support from people living in the mainstream who have followed PETA. Not everybody is going to be into punk, we need to branch out from just anarchists and punks to get anything to actually change. Teeny-boppers love the Bieber, and have quite a bit of influence over their parents spending habits. This, of course, will help PETA quite a bit. It will also save some animals.

So I say again: So what? Find something more important to complain about, like the comedian/magician duo Penn & Teller's anti-animal rights campaign.

I'm surprised of the support and acknowledgment I've seen most people give to the ALF. I mean obviously most people wouldn't be against their non-violent liberations, but as far as property destruction goes, even my mom who is a hardcore pacifist progressive even says about structure fires of vivisection labs, "they had it coming."

Yeah you got some points Jack.... PETA is not something i would support i think its just ridiculous pseudo activism for bourgeois but i dont think it would be productive to fight against them

ALF isn't always non violent.... In the UK they kidnapped a farmer and they burnt his skin with hot iron like they do to animals.... And because of a minority of stories like that, animals right activists are now labelled as terrorists in some countries..

I think that's actually the ARM. Animal Rights Militia. The ALF is obviously autonomous, but there are guidelines as to what you can consider an ALF action and not. One of the guidelines is no innocent (*EDIT* not just "innocent" but any creature, human or non human. The phrase innocent obviously is versatile) must be harmed, animal or human.

Do they really have an anti-animal rights campaign? I know that they blasted peta a little unfairly on "Bullshit!" Claiming peta is against pets, and claiming animal research is better for the advancement of human health, which are both false, but I can't find anything on a seperate full on campaign.

i remember hearing this story in a french documentary on ALF and i think (but i am not 100% sure) that the activists written ALF letter on the farmer's skin with hot iron

Hm, well they should've put ARM. That's that the ARM is for. Shit like that will discredit the ALF in the eyes of neutral people that we're trying to win over.

*And by we're, I mean people who support animal rights, not implying I have any connection to any ALF activists/actions or cells*

Confession...I first heard about animal rights when listening to anarcho-punk bands, such as conflict.
But I never actually considered going vegetarian until i read some articles on the Peta website...and yeah those shock videos helped out as well.
Now, I'm well aware that Peta actually kills many of there animals in shelters that aren't being adopted, saying they don't have enough money to keep them alive, which is obvious bullshit because its quite clear they have extra money laying around with all the celebrity photo shoots they have, and banned Superbowl spot commercials.

They are mainstream and do manage to convert people to vegetarian/vegan eating habits, so in my book that counts for something...
although they could do better and drop all there stupid nude photo shoots for anti fur campaigns.

Argh, if he's raw model for his diehard fans, that will be great. At least some of them would consider trying to be helpful ( not ? :ecouteurs: ). Anywayz we all know this is bullshit, and PETA is just another bunch off arses. If they care about animals ( I think some of them truly do) why would they make such a big profit out of them ? So basiclly they are getting benefits from animals, even though they are strictly against animal-profits. :ecouteurs:

Yeah i think that might have been it, maybe "campaign" might have been an unintentional exagerration...but that's how i took it at the time. Either way, Penn and Teller are dipshits.

As for PETA killing animals...I've heard that before but I heard it from an unreliable right-wing source so I didn't really know how to take it. They made it out to be like they'd kill the dogs because it was better than being owned or something, but that seemed ridiculous to me, even for sketchy-ass PETA. I saw a documentary on Ingrid Newkirk where she would drive around lower income areas giving out free dog houses and dog food to people who needed them. Whether or not that was just for the movie I couldn't tell you.

I think it comes from a story where PETA had more animals than they could give out for adoption, so they ended killed
