    Has anyone heard of Seitan?
I heard their first lp "D-Beat Hippie Lover" last summer and i fell in love with it, now i hear that the band broke up but are still going to publish their final lp.
Really nice, agressive and filthy crust in the vein of early Skitsystem.
They have put some new songs in myspace and i think they sound fucking awesome and im really looking forward to the new album.

I have D Beat Hippie Lovers on cd
I think they would be better with a different singer though
Or just in a different way, those low crust vocals all blend together to me

The vocals strike me more as death metal esque.

Never heard them, descriptions sound interesting. Album cover definitely looks intriguing.

I dunno, I think its the music for me. It's so low that it just turns into a dull roar because they don't distort it properly. Listen to any track off of D-Beat Hippie Lovers, followed by a Warcollapse track.
Also, crust vocals tend to be less flavorful than real death metal vocals. Listen to At The Gates or Carcass. Much less repetitive.

I tend to like the low, guttural vocals in crust.
Such bands as Sanctum, Stormcrow and Warcollapse use this style perfectly.
I`ve heard others saying that they dont like the vocals in Seitan but i think they fit nicely with the sound and style of the band.

I don´t know about their final release but know that most of the people in Seitan are in Leda now,
different vocals but think the music is like before. The guy singing on the leda myspace http://www.myspace.com/disleda
is not n the band anymore, so don´t know what the plan is. They still play though...

Seitan also recorded 20 songs for a lp that was supposed to be released in 2010, due to some circumstances that obviusly never happend . To top things the singer decided to leave the band after the recordings where done. In the end the rest of the band didn't have the energy to finish things. Until now the songs haven't been released. But now they re available from http://www.seitan.bandcamp.com for listening and for download, enjoy!
Booth albums are also available on grooveshark.com
