Lol, Genesis P. Orridge tagged as "Gucci Goth" haha! He's the lead vocalist of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, it doesn't get much more experimental than that. Don't just trust any label found on Last.fm

I personally am a huge fan of a lot of the old-school bands, but i too like Zola Jesus and Christ Vs. Warhol and such

Also i don't see how you can't like Current 93, The Mob and Bauhaus and all that today. Am a huge fan of all three... The problem to me is, that many punk scenes are to busy being true and political, and have alienated a big part of the experimental music scene, just as the experimental music scene has gotten afraid of these political scenes.

I'm not at all into the industrial sound (maybe some clock dva and oldschool stuff like that) but I love the firstwave goth rock era, where the gothic sound was close to its punk roots. yeah, christian death and southern death cult were great bands. The whole deathrock/postpunk/darkwave/batcave/whatever thing was amazing.
Shuei, I couldnt agree more with the last line you wrote about politics and experimental music.

I love me some good old goth and industrial. Siouxsie and The Banshees, Bauhaus, .45 Grave (more of a deathrock band, but still), The Cure, The Creatures, Sisters of Mercy, all great stuff! I went through a few month long industrial phase, it was mostly aggrotech and EBM though, but I love industrial metal. I own almost everthing Godflesh has done, also love Pitch Shifter, Dead World, great stuff!

    Great Test Department track

I can recommend Haus Arafna on that front too, they've made a lot of good stuff.

And of course Einsturzende Neubauten, who is always the best

May check em out but yeah fucking great track, better version than an earlier one they did. The Striking Miner's speach is the stuff of legend and the way he goes 'and tonight it gives me great pleasure to introduce' and then the edit straight into the song, awwwwwwwwwww fucking awesome!!!

YUCK does anyone actually like their music? They seem like the most pretentious band ever, and if not fir their name no one would care about them. Roz Williams was an idiot, Valor is one too, and Rikk Agnew had good intentions in starting the band but what it became was such a joke no wonder he didn't stick around :p

    I love Christian Death.
The name was a humoristic take on Christian Dior, and sure, the band takes them self very serious, but many of the great 80's groups seems pretentious today because irony is in all music and art today . I think it's fine that they are a little pretentious, it's better than all of these groups with no artistic ambition that will surely bore me within 20 minutes. Huge problem in music today, especially punk music.

Though I'm not a huge fan of Valor's Christian Death... Always seemed fake to me. Though some of their earliest songs was okay.

They don't go in the Goth, Industrial catergory. Rites of Spring is a Post Hardcore indie band, and The Wipers are just punk rock, I guess labels do not really matter though, because really Goth, Emo, and Post Hardcore are just Punk Rock down to the roots.

Early Butthole Surfers were very noisy in a sort of industrial way...and The Wipers influenced much more than just those bands nike, how about Big Black, Tangerine Dream, early Love n Rockets, Siouxie and the Banshees, Tex and the Horseheads,.....etc. etc.
