I stumbled upon this interview by "metalkings.com" and although i might be the only one who didn't know this,i thought it was funny and shared it. In case some of you didn't know Paul Di'Anno was the original singer of Iron Maiden (Still think he was better then Bruce)

HMP: Let me ask a question strongly connected with such attitude towards politicians. You were strongly into punk ...

Paul: I'm still into it! Punk idea has always stayed with me through all my life; it will never change. But what they call punk music nowadays is absolutely fuckin' bullshit. Offspring, Green Day - forget it ...

HMP: The same things told me Wattie of Exploited a couple days ago ... (Paul shows us Exploited T-shirt, which he's wearing under the West Ham top! He's really good prepaired to the interview!!!)

Paul: Always wear it. I love punk, came from it. I feel like I cheat sometimes the fans, cause I play them heavy metal while I'm punk singer. I'm really into it.

I agree, early Iron Maiden shits on Bruce Dickinson's severe lack of testicles

Paul brought major punk influence to Maiden whether he's misguided about The Exploited or not, and they have never been the same without him or their first drummer, and on a bizarrely related note, played the bass parts from Ghengis Khan very loud to a house full of twenty-something punks today and they all tripped.....so funny.

Yea, Paul Di'Ano >bruce dickens. And what's hilarious and ironic is that after i wrote this post i stumbled an old Anarcho Punk-net thread about the exploited and Wattie being racist (and he is) and all of the people that just replied on here were involved in it hahaha. I think that's why the pillsbury Hitler boy said "wow people defending Exploited again".

But enough of that, no need to continue it lol. It's not like i was going to edit out exactly what he responded, that would be just fucking stupid. :lmao:

Anyhow, on topic i was watching some You-Tube videos of Paul'Di Anno now, pretty funny and cool. Saw one with some asians playing Iron Maiden and he was doing vocals it looked like G.I.S.M with Paul Di'Anno on lead vocals haha.

Yep Paul Di'Ano version of Phantom of the Opera on their first album is 20x better than Dickinson's version.

I read somewhere that Dickinson was opera trained. Not his singing as such but his breathing. Allows him to get the long sustained notes that he does.

Barry Purkiss/Doug Sampson/Clive Burr all drummed for Maiden. Clive Burr was really their first studio album recorded drummer though. His drumming was tight but I like Nicko McBrain's madness.
