I love DIY. I'm really bad at it. I'm the opposite of artistic. But the worse it looks the more cred I get. mahaha.

I was always into DIY, never bought clothes, patches and such stuff like that. It always reminded me of the "Anarchy for Sale" song from Dead Kennedys - that's why I do such things myself.

The stuff at http://anarchoi.resistance.tk shure give me some new ideas! Excellent work, the table is simply perfect!

ive made lots of shit ,stencils, patches , clothes, pouches, sk8 ramps and so forth but i think the best thing and something maybey others should include if theyve done ,is making yer own alcohol, its very simple, in jail i used the apple juice they gave us and all you need is some sugar and some yeast ,put it in an air tight jar and let it ferment for about 2 weeks , burping it daily and you will end up with cider tasting alcohol ,

also if yer real balsy you can make grain alcohol with hand sanitizer , all you need is salt , coffee filters and 2 decent sized jars , you make a layer of salt on top of the sanitizer ,let it sit for 10 minuets , filter it through the coffee filters , then repeat about 3 times ,
(note , it tastes fuckin horrible!!!! use a dark soda chaser !!!!)

but it will get you trashed

I've made my own vest and patched my own pants. I also make stencils and am hoping to learn to screenprint correctly in the future.

I like d.i.y. stuff but I prefer Do it together. (d.i.t.) (not so well known, I know)

Because for a real good work itś better to find other comrades, perhaps they are better experts than you. And you can never be to egocentric if you have to discuss your ideas with the community you are involved.

your a filthy genius im seriously tryin this..

other diy fun stuff ive done is a seed bomb. if you live in an industrial area use some soil and clayish thing with a seed wrapped up in it and throw it anywhere to evolve into pretty plants. i always enjoy political grafitti, especially during voting season. its also sad when you put up anti-war rally fliers around your hood and they get ripped down of course. ive put taped down fabric on paper and fed it through the printer for patches before. and then diy recycling makes you a couple bucks

I've got a question for those who make stencils. What do you use for the stencil itself and how do you cut it out?

I use plastic or thin cardboard, hand draw it and then cut it out with an exacto knife. Just wondering how everybody else does it. Thanks.

I think DIY is more about just taking from around you what you need to make do at the time.

I print whatever I am stenciling and then glue it to thin cardboard, let it dry, then cut with an exacto knife. Sometimes with tricky logos I just use scissors and skip the cardboard. Or I cut what I can straight (I don't know about you, but I'm terrible with cutting round edges) and fill in the rest free hand.
What kind of paint do you use?
