    He probably won't learn from a video as much as he will practicing everyday along with D-beat recordings for a couple of weeks, just my opinion though.

    H:|x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-:||
    S:|--o---o---o---o-:||
    K:|o---oo--o---oo--:||

    H=highhat, S is snare and k= a kick or bassdrum, whatever you'd like.

    Just make your drummer play this at about 190-210 bpm et voila, there you have your d beat!

    When i want to learn a new certain style of drumming or drum fill or just a different style overall i listen to a band who exceeds in the style for example if i want to learn Kang (Swedish Dbeat Style) then i listen to Wolfbrigade/Disfear/Skitsystem over and over again until i learn it exactly the same, well i don't anymore but this is what i did years ago. But from playing drums about 8 years that's what has helped me the best, one thing i can tell you is be open minded and listen to different music even if you don't like it, but as long as your drummer actually enjoys playing drums then it shouldn't be a problem wanting to learn different styles in the end it will be for his benefit and become a better drummer.

    At least this is what's helped me these years, i played in Alternate System/Bombraid/ and now Holokaust. I LOVE D-BEAT! \m/
