Wikileaks is currently under fire from US officials
Calling it "Treason"... even though it's not based in america
The site appears to be shut down if you simply google it but here is a link

    Wikileaks

If you want to know the URL to share it:
    http://88.80.13.160/

Anyways what's your take on all this?
I really expect nothing but support for Wikileaks from this site

You get nothing but support from humble me, I nearly wet my pants when I was reading the germun reports about the characterization of leading germun politicians in the eyes of the american embassy in berlin, bunch of completely ridiculous jumping jacks always eager to please big brother u.s.a - and they can shit right on angela "teflon" merkels feet - and she will excuse herself for it...

The site was under fire since the first iraqi and afghan us-warcrimes became public, mainly the pentagon blamed them for betrayal of military secrets, somehow there seemed to be some inner-wikileaks dissent too, about how to deal with aspects of security for soldiers and strategies in the warzones. The site was down most of the time during the last months, but the main leaks were avaliable on other sites - and the recent leak proves, that at least some of the leakers still work - and I hope they will continue!

i have a documentary with interviews from wikileak founder and their webservers are based in multiple countries so the website should be back very quickly... anyway it's not new the USA have been trying to sue them for years, everyone want to shut them down for revealing secret documents.... It's useless, the stuff they published is already mirrored all over the planet and shared everywhere on P2P networks..

Yea, the company that hosted their old domain, wikileaks.org, dropped them. I imagine the sites that give out the domains are getting a lot of shit as well. I hope they continue and keep getting their leaks out, I also stand behind them 100%. It's about time people know more about what their countries are doing without the people's knowledge.

Wikileaks are great. At the moment, they're stuff hasn't been all that revelatory (Afghanistan and Iraq are much worse than the US has been letting on, diplomats are sometimes rude about each other). Some of it has been important but it's real benefit is how it is really pissing off and embarassing the right people.

I read that Assange was offered protection in Ecuador but have been told this has since been retracted? Got to say, the sexual harrassment/rape allegations against him seem extremely suspect.

Haven't checked the links yet but this sounds like bullshit to me. A bit New World Order-y.

WikiLeaks smells like COINTELPRO or some other form of counter-intelligence masking itself as dissent.

Funny considering it is soooo establishment friendly...

If it was a real threat then Assange would have been taken out ages ago as would have been the site.

The leaks show nothing revelatory either...wow Russia is a mafia state...what next, there are pedophile priests running parishes?

Where are the leaks on Israel or the Zionist lobby??? THERE ARE NONE!

Besides...there is something about the way Assange looks that just screams "spy" at me.

I'm not too sure about that, I've been to WikiLeaks a number of times, a bit similar to Liveleaks.com. WikiLeaks has proven helpful and was capable of spreading the leaks more than others, even if the leaks were old, the point still stands.

They seem genuine in their intentions to me, I do not care about Assange, he's just another person. I heard there's an arrest warrant on him for rape, good then, but what does that have to do with the leaks, WIkiLeaks, and the whole thing? That's like saying if Obama raped a woman then the whole United States must be blamed.

You answered your own question, if you think that what Wikileaks released is irrelevant crap, then why would he have been taken out years ago? (though hes only been doing this for about a year or two).

Its in the news BECAUSE he's "getting away" with this, and what is said in the cables, being someone whos read through A LOT of them, id say its not completely irrelevant.

BUT, im not dismissing the charges about rape that were brought against him, just sayin'. If he didnt do it good, if he did, well that sucks.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/mashable/201012 ... _wikileaks

Guess a good amount of hackers are assaulting law firms, banks and visa to avenge Wikileaks. Pretty sweet. Blocking their sites and flooding their servers so no one can access them. There's also talk of timing out Lieberman's and Palin's websites as well.
I personally have a lot of hope for hackers, if they stick with it, could turn aspects of the country into a comedy show. Would be really funny to see all these self-righteous prick companies bumble around like idiots trying to get their affairs in order over a prolonged attack.

What's nice too is that Wikileaks should continue to operate without any hindrance. Assange really hasn't any critical effect on the site's function. So even if all this does blow over without any difference made, it's only a matter of time before more shit is uncovered and more diplomats/government twats look like complete fools.
