i can't believe pot is still illegal, to be honest. i've probably only smoked like, 9 or 10 times throughout the course of my life thus far, but i think it's (in comparison to alcohol and tobacco, at least) pretty harmless.

i don't think it necessarily makes you lazy, either. i think that only happens if you let it happen. i still talk to a lot of people who are regular smokers, and they're totally fine.

not when a lot of states are legalizing it for 'medicinal' purposes.

yeah but those are all loopholes through the law that have really become a joke
in colorado they will give about anyone a card

i'd guess 2/3 of people who smoke weed in the U.S. do it illegally
I know in my current state it's still very illegal

excessive usage of everything from basic food to sex does harm to every individual so it has nothing to do with excessive usage the legalization of cannabis has wider economic and political implications at stake.

All drugs should be legal (and logically any anarchist should believe this), prohibition just causes harm and limits freedom. Plus pot is the most harmless of the recreational drugs, overall (although more habit forming than psychedelics).

there would be no "legal" -"ilegal" in new society. I think we shoud think of this, becouse many kids will try to use this "rule"...and it isnt good. Its unhealthy, and you dont really accomplish anything by taking them, do you ?

Yeah, in an anarchist society legal/illegal would not exist, but we aren't there by any stretch of the imagination, so why not try to make the current system better (obviously it can never be perfect, but no longer punishing people for using certain drugs would be better than the current ways). And so what if drugs CAN be bad (moderation is the key) ? You believe in freedom, yeah? Then shouldn't one be able to choose what they ingest? Also, you don't accomplish anything by doing a lot of things, so what?

That sounds a lot like me, except I'll still smoke pot here and there now, I'm just spending my money on all my punk paraphernalia instead of weed now haha...and one other difference is I'd always wait out the high when smoking before sleep, then pass out during the crash.

im all for drug legalization but i also believe in rational use of them. I don't smoke pot because it stimulates my depression and anxiety, Speed on the other hand doesn't do this.

I smoke weed to excess when I'm not on paper and it doesn't drag me down at all. All about the mindset of the person. Blaze up the chalwa!

Those drugs would all be cheaper and more well regulated/safer, drug addicts wouldn't be targeted by police, no more money to the cartels/gangs, yeah, I think it's safe to say that WOULD better society. And, interesting fact (though this is about pot not hard shit), in the Netherlands, there is a lower rate of use of marijuana than in USA/most of Europe/Canada...hmm...

Plus ecstacy and meth are both way too low. I can't see meth being anything but right at the top. And ecstacy...sure it's fine here and there, but in abuse it destroys your ability to think...

Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it has to be accepted. It's legal to be an alcoholic, doesn't mean you should be. I may dabble with some drugs but that is personal choice (and the law does not dictate my decisions on this) but I would personally never take smack and I reckon probably not acid as well.

Personally I'd go with freedom over protection, rehabilitation over punishment.

If I intoxicate myself (alcohol, weed, coke etc.), I feel like I'm turning in to this pseudo-human being. I lose control, I'm not all there and consequently I don't feel ready enough (for anything that might drop in my lap).

Just like I don't respect (if you give a fuck 'bout that..) people drinking at demoz, or people druggin' so the can shake off the fear when committing crimes, beat down fascists, initiating actions and so on.. Only a fresh mind can justify ones actions properly..
It just seems so phoney to do anything when your mind isn't in the right place!

It's also part of the reason why I can't let myself watch tv, listen to the radio, just.. no more of that mind-numbing shit hurled into my brain for the sake of manipulation and stasis.

But just to be clear, this isn't an attempt to brand anyone: right to your own body, right to your own mind, do what you wish - Always!
