My name's (Chris) Caps, I'm 26 and I'm from London. Played in a band called Sick to Death for a while (www.myspace.com/sicktodeathuk) and was about to start a new project called Threat when, quite abruptly, I got admitted into hospital for leukaemia.

As I have quite a lot of time on my hands, I thought I'd join this here forum. I guess I'm especially interested in checking out bands from the UK for gigs to go to once I'm out of hospital. STD tried to form some links with political/anarcho bands but were largely involved in the UK Thrash scene - always as the political party-poopers (except for the nudity). We got to know Flowers of Flesh and Blood quite well but that was it, really.

Music wise, I have close ties to the UK Thrash scene but am obviously into lots of music besides thrash. DKs are Napalm Death are two of my favourite bands. Other big faves of mine include Subhumans, MDC, Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, CRASS, Killing Joke (alll eras), Poison Idea, FUGAZI, (unsurprisingly) Rudimentary Peni and (unsurprisingly) Minor Threat. Also, latter days Propaghandi has really impressed me recently.

Politically, I'm a libertarian. I do not accept the right-wing interpretation of libertarian as libertarian. Besides that, I have a lot of sympathy with all strands of left-based anarchy - starting with socialism, I have time for syndicalism, communism, mutualism, primitivism, post-left and social ecology. Just give me ANARCHY! My dissertation when studying was titled 'The Anarchist Position in the Anti-Captalist Movement.' It was a bit shit but good fun to write. I did do a little bit of helping out with East Kent Afed a couple of years back. I'm normally at the London bookfair but had to miss this year as I was in hospital. I was also at Rebellion this year but spent the whole time being ill. It was after that trip that I found out what was wrong with me.

Anyway, that's enough. If anyone has London/UK band recommendations and, any 'must downloads' (from anywhere) from the site, let me know.

    Peace.
