sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorry - i didn't want to patronize you, and yes, i think i can understand what you are trying to express, but your statements sometimes sound a bit too harsh - example: "emo culture is stupid" -
am i wrong when i think you wanted to say "i can't understand them" - or
(your statement) - sounds a lot better than "emo is stupid" - which sounds quite elitist - and i don't think you are...

there is nothing wrong with your age and there is nothing wrong with english-isn't-your-first-language - so i commented anxietys post - because i find it still a bit unfair.

thank punk you are here, and i will reply to you directly if i want to, so again sorrysorrysorry and :ecouteurs:

Who cares. Let them do what they do. Judging someone for what they do behind closed doors is fucking stupid. Now if they go around showing everyone for attention, then it's a little lame, but fuck, I've cut myself before, I have zippo burns scaring my left arm, are you going to call me stupid? I definitely did not do it to go around showing people. The zippo burns where from drunken depression when I was 15, I don't even remember what the fuck it was about. I used to cut the top of my forearm, because I never did it suicidally, just because the pain was a nice rush, so I avoided my wrists. I was in the hospital for 2 months and almost died when I was 15 (not from self mutilation or attempted suicide, it was a rare bacteria that got into my blood and put my whole body into septic shock). I had a tracheotomy, a feeding tube, was in a hospital induced coma for a month, had to relearn how to walk talk and eat. 2% chance of surviving. I've had a bit of on and off depression after that, just because I had to face my own mortality. My mom getting threatening calls from health care companies saying they we're going to take away everything we own and harassing her didn't help much either. How I deal with it is my business, and I sure wouldn't like to be judged by people who they understand what's going on in my life/ mind. Also, who are you to say most punks don't drink to escape problems? Sure a lot do it for fun, but there is some punks out there who found punk the old school way, they felt confused, unwanted, cast out by society, found themselves in shitty situations family wise etc.
If people want to do that to themselves, so be it, it's their body, it's their choice.
The more I read from you, the more respect I lose.

OK, I dont want to argue, but its just, you are attacking me becouse i said that i think they are stupid ( ok, as lilapple said i cant understand why). Look I dont have a fucking problem with them. when i see a man dressed like an emo on a street I dont even think about him. I have a feeling that what they do isnt the best way to live your life. Of course "who cares" about someone let him live his life is right, i agree. But again, I dont understand why. yeah, many things dont have reason, and its just stupid to ask why do you cut yourself, but i really cant see the point. yeah, everyones losing "respect". I know why, I just had a few bad days. but yeah, i still stand behind my words : I dont understand emos, I dont want to harm them, I just want to understand them, and if possible help with the "problem".
Im sorry for you personal problem, and I see your point. Again, is drinking a way to escape ? ( "who cares"?). I think, we are here to help. If he is rejected from society, confused, or even doesnt have money he can always rely on us. We are against todays society, we can understand him make him feel better.
To end this, by saying "stupid emo culture" and "I dont see the point" I tried to say one think : people can help people, we should do it. I think self harm isnt a way. If he likes it let him be ( like you said "who cares"), but if we try to show him that theres a good side of the life, maybe hell stop ( If we can help each other we could face the problem toghether, not avoid it alone. Most emos have problem, so they "enter" their own world, yep ok, stay there if you want, but hey youre not alone.). I dont have anything against tham ( lil'apple said my words sound a bit harsh, that wasnt my point, lack of words probbably.)

I get where you're coming from. I'm not saying you have no right to think how you do, I'm just saying you should think it through before you make a decision on how you feel about them. I understand we're talking more about the emo trend and subculture, but you had to go on talking about their personal lives. Obviously, you can't silence everyone you disagree with, that'd be fascist, but you can help to change their minds, the way they view things, which is why I'm not condemning you for what you said, but rather stating maybe you should consider there's probably deeper things to it than a cry for attention. To judge someone like that based off of what they do on their own time, their own business, behind closed doors, to me, is the same as calling homosexuals stupid, because what they do doesn't make sense to certain people (mind you, this is just a similarity that I see.) Like I said, I don't condemn you, but rather attempt to help you open your mind. Sorry if it came off like I was attacking you, though the last bit about me losing repsect it true, whether you see it as a personal attack or not.

Punk died, then came back in a different form, then repeat and repeat and repeat. Punk's dead, but it's alive, but it's dead too. It's an argument that can never have a winner.

    "Punk's not dead
    It just deserves to die
When it becomes another stale cartoon
    A close-minded, self-centered social club
Ideas don't matter, it's who you know
    If the music's gotten boring
    It's because of the people
Who want everyone to sound the same
    Who drive bright people out
    Of our so-called scene
'Til all that's left Is just a meaningless fad"
    -Dead Kennedys
    Song:Chickenshit Conformist
Remember Jello's lyrics and you will know what punk needs.

punk's been in the same place ever since it was created. :ecouteurs: - but then there's these never-ending arguments regarding this conflagration. sure some "punks" act like a pile of crap which sends the statement to people that punk's dead for it is not, but underground. no such genre of music can ever die but go/stay underground.
