Conflicts later albums are far to overproduced for my liking. That Carlo Guiliani song is alright but I really can't get over that song Climbing the stairs... that really was the final nail in the coffin for me and conflict (RIP)
That and I strongly disagree with Colin's idealism, particularly his thoughts on animal rights

Too each their own, i like that song, and i like when bands try doing something different instead of just regurgitating the same old songs time and again.

I know a lot of people here hate bad religion (not me) but they are a perfect example of a band that is basically still putting out the same old album over and over again...

The chapter in question from Ignorants book

    "Betrayal:

On new years eve, 2008 I was told something I simply counldn't believe. So I did what people tend to do when they're given bad news: I shot the messenger.
I went up the fucking wall. The person involved won't tell me what I said, & I can't remember, but there was only one thing I was sure about: they had been lying.
Then they showed me the proof.
One person- who'd never been a mamber of Crass- had registered himself as being the writer of all Crass' songs, and instructed his record company - who had no
reasonto suspect that what he'd told them was untrue - to collect whatever money was due.
John Loder had registered the members of Crass as writers of our songs, but since Southern was a record company first & foremost, ratherthan a publishing company,
this wasn't really something that was actively persued. While we got paid for record sales through southern, other income - from live performance, or from digital
download as technology moveed on - was effectively up for grabs. So someone we knew decided to make it theirs.

It couldn't have been a mistake. This person had filled in the forms, and name the songs, and sign to say he wrote them. I know this because, since this came to light, I've joined the PRS & MCPS myself, to safeguard my income.
There's no innocent explanation. Perhaps he did it to save the money for you? Saving it for himself, more like. And if he was, then why didn't he tell us he was doing it? How come he hasn't
spoekn to Allison from Southern? How come none of us in Crass have heard from him? Because there hasn't been a fucking peep.

The sad truth is that Colin, my supposed brother, and best mate, had been ripping us off. While he had his arm round my shoulder, telling me what great pals we were, he was taking money out of my fucking pocket. Even on the stairs backstage at Shepherds Bush, when I was comforting himwhile he cried because he missed the old times, he knew he was getting the money for the Crass songs I'd just performed.
And tha deceit, that betrayal really hurts.

I'd always made excuses for Colin. Said he was a loveable rogue. But he lied to Cherry Red, and he took other people's money & claimed it for his own. There's no excuse for that. You just don't do it.
He really broke my heart. the clincher is that over the past two years, since all this came to light, I've heard nothingfrom him. I put myself in his shoes & I know it there was an honest explanation, one that would save thirty years of friendship, I'd have been straight on the phone.

It's not about the money. Cherry Red had collected it in good faith, and when they found out Col had lied, they paid every penny back. But Colin chose stealing from his mates over friendship, and the silence has been deafening. I don't know how he'll ever hold his head up in public again. I know I'll never speak to him. I'll have nothing to do with him. You don't ever steal from your own."

Sorry to be off topic, but Bad Religion's first album "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?" is way different than anything they've ever done. I think it's one of my favorite hardcore albums of all time.

I agree, but I think that their first album is way BETTER than anything they've ever done
hardcore punks are usually turned off by bad religion, but usually they haven't heard HCHBAW?

    ...Steve Ignorant presents
    The Last Supper
    Crass Songs 1977 – 1982
(Plus a few shocks, surprises, perhaps some slogans, but no tantrums...and a bit of a laugh)
    ...
    ...
In 2007, Steve Ignorant gathered some friends together and put on two shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. Called The Feeding Of 5000, the show was a celebration of the Crass album of the same name, which was performed in its entirety.

It most certainly was not a Crass reunion, and never sought to be.

    THE LAST SUPPER

This tour will answer the calls that have come from around the globe in response to the Shepherd’s Bush gigs. Steve will be celebrating the period of Crass’ work which he feels the band were at their strongest, most productive and most hopeful.

Steve's band for the tour will be

Spike T. Smith - drums (Conflict, Morrissey, Killing Joke, The Damned)
Bob Butler - bass (The Tone, Schwartzneggar)
Gizz Butt - guitar (English Dogs, Janus Stark, Prodigy, The More I See)
Beki Straughan - vocals (Loaded 44)
Steve Ignorant - vocals (Crass, Conflict, Schwartzneggar, Stratford Mercenaries)

As well as featuring Crass songs (plus a few other favourites) there will be some rather special visuals.

This is a once-only tour. We will play no city more than once. We hope to visit as many places as possible from September 2010 to the end of 2011, when we are planning a finale show in London. Steve has a few things planned after that, which you'll hear more about in due course.

    Thank you very bloody much.

    :lmao:

    Fuck that.

Who's in the wrong here? Are they both bastards? It seems to me that Colin's got to have more credibility here because Steve's been milking CRASS for a while now but with them fighting and contradicting each other, it's unclear.
