I think theres too many films / videos made about spanish civil war, CNA, FAI...its past, i think movies should say something about these days, anarchist actions and stuff. anyway, good link \m/

Its not past, it's still happening today, and those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it and it's CNT not CNA....

Huh wtf ? The movies on the spanish revolution are very rare, most of the documentaries and movies only talk about the civil war conflict and not the real revolution and anarchism in action. Sorry but what you are saying sounds really stupid, why should we forget what happenned in the past revolutions just because it's past ? If we want to make a revolution we must study how it happenned in the past, the revolutions of today are based on the ones of the past and the spanish revolution can teach us a lot of lessons.

i agree. but if we are going to make a revoluion, it wont be like the previous one. its different now. maybe you got me wrong, or I said what I didnt mean. I love the documenatries and movies about past, learning about past is always interesting and useful. But i think today we cant really do something like they CNT did in back in 20th century. I was just pointing out that there are not too many movies talking about present problems, conflicts etc. guess I was totally "random". nevermind. :/

I found this one at the Ol'piratebay, hope it is ok. to post it here:

Vivir la Utopia - Living Utopia(Anarchism and Spanish Civil War)
    Size: 769.62 MiB
rare documentary on anarchists (and their actions and ideas) during the spanish civil war in the 1930s

by that time spain had the largest anarchist community in europe, which managed to build a anti-capitalist society built on ideas of equality, mutual aid and self-organization, denying the structure principles of state and government
this living utopia was later successfully destroyed by fascist, capitalist and stalinist forces from outside and within the country
this is a vhsrip with hardcoded english subs, the quality is relatively good(the most of the film is black-white archive footage)
there's no imdb entry for this film.

this film is quite important, so please keep seeding it at least till 1:1

Haven't seen it, but the comments are promising!

There's not so much things that are different, and it's still very interessing to see how things worked after the revolution, this is almost the only exemple of anarchism in history, we can learn a lot from it and it proves that anarchism can work.

We already had this debate many times, i repeat there is A LOT of things to learn from the revolution of the past, and there is no reason to put the history in trash because "things are different"

yes very very good documentary, got it in french

I found this one on anarcho-pedia, and because the documentary is that good - focussing on "anarchist living and culture" instead of dealing "just with history" - I just like to post all the links where to find it again.

at the end of the page there is a mention of an "Anarchist Film Channel, launched by Stuart Christie in 2006. Now (march 2008) with 350 films and documentary around anarchism" - but I can't open the link on this poor old slow electronic slave - would somebody else take a look?

Nah, our black&red La Pasionaria just defied time again, and only forgot to past in the link:
    http://eng.anarchopedia.org/Vivir_la_utop%C3%ADa
for the english anarchopedia-site with lots of youtube- and quite a few other links where to get "Vivir la Utopia" separated into parts or complete in one file about 715 mb.

We have the piratebay-dl, it's spanish with english subtitles but the quality isn't good enough to show it in the public, so we keep searching the best quality avaliable (maybe we'll buy an official release if there is one) and host it somewhere and post a link - this documentation IS a masterwork and we should spread it wherever possible...
    and:
somehow (bad connection?) we can't get on the page... but it sounds promising?!

...And to praise all the angels, and the sluts of the world and the humble milicia-women above them all:

Libertarias (Juegos de Guerra, Spain, 1996, Vicente Aranda)
In the midst of the Spanish Revolution and Spanish Civil War in Barcelona, militia women Pilar (Ana Belen) and Floren (Victoria Abril) are joined by former prostitute Charo (Loles Leon) and former nun Maria (Ariadna Gil). The film opens with scenes of working class militants demolishing and burning religious icons, as they shout "down with Capitalism!" and "long live the libertarian revolution!"
While fully immersed in the overall enthusiasm of revolutionary Spain, Pilar and friends find themselves fighting against deep gender inequality which complicates their efforts in the war against Francisco Franco's Nationalist/Fascist/Catholic forces. They encounter resistance even within their own "Free Women" (Mujeres Libres) organization as one woman (that resembles Federica Montseny) tries to persuade them to stay and work in defense factories, while men try to convince them to go work as cooks, not front-line soldiers.

Is on the ol'piratebay (1,37 GB)
    http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5468420/Libertarias
and on isohunt too (703 mb)
    http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/3032 ... ab=summary

There is a international film festival in Thessaloniki and Athen, Agenda: The Spanish Civil War in Cinema - but I lack the foreign tongue to get behind the 15 film titles they show there, if someone more capable of french or greek will take a look:
