Why don't you fuck off Roy? These are our friends that are communicating through our forum in an emergency situation, and if it was a problem then a Moderator would have said something, but it isn't, and you call yourself an anarchist? With apathetic whiny anarchists like you who needs fascists? :@

Oh knock it off. It's a public thread about a specific topic (CNT or IWA flags)... it's not unreasonable to expect it to stay on topic... what am I supposed to do? I'm trying to help someone with something anarchist related. Besides, there were times when you didn't know these folks.. what if you had reacted to them publicly this way over small things? This is not a way to promote good will. What's wrong with me helping the guy with flag info?

If he doesn't want the help then I'll stop helping... but practically killing the thread by switching the topic and then swearing at me when I point out that I'd rather keep on topic? How would you like it if someone did that to you? I mean, come on. Really. I'm sorry if I pissed you off somehow(I didn't really read what the other folks were talking about besides the beginning bits, so I had no idea what it was about), but can you call yourself an anarchist and behave that way? (This isn't about forced niceness, I'm just talking about co-existing.)

ungovernable, would you still like any more help with the flag stuff? I guess the last bit of info I have is about people who re-enact the Spanish Civil War. Them, along with the actual anarchist organizations (in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the UK, etc.) would have the most info. Lemme know if you do.

(If the organizations wont help you I guess it's either because of the language barrier or they just don't wanna sell stuff... of course in that case we have to make it ourselves.)

Then you should have read it before whining, its not unreasonable to want topics to stay on course but this was a special situation and it was not unreasonable to let it stray off topic when it was their only means of communication. Next time I suggest you read through, this topic isn't just here for you to try and help Ungov get his flag. And yes your level of selfishness did piss me off, not to mention your level of apathy t'wards the selling of Nazi memorabilia which I find utterly disgusting.

It's not apathy. In this case it was an argument about freedom of speech and not being excessively uptight, elitist, exclusionary or politically correct with people who are selling stuff *they do not show any signs of supporting*. It isn't about apathy. I made it VERY clear I was not apathetic about the specific issue you were concerned about. And this isn't "whining", it's a legitimate complaint. You went off topic and I asked if we could get back on topic. So? I would fully support you starting ANOTHER thread to deal with someone else who needs help! ,.. But there must be rules here that ask people to stay on topic, otherwise, what could possibly be the point of ever speaking up and trying to help anyone here at all? It feels more like you were just looking for an excuse to insult me over something we were debating. That isn't the way to settle a disagreement. The disagreement could have been ANYTHING, and the result would have been the same.. fuck off, fuck you, you're a fascist, etc etc. Like I said, I'm used to this stuff online, but I had some knowledge and I wanted to help ungovernable out who clearly and plainly asked for help in a topic on this forum.

I think you know you're in the wrong about the changing of the topic, and we already resolved the other issue, but it's like you just cant help taking a swing at me. With people like this in the anarchist scene who needs the fascists? If there is a rule that says the topic can be changed any time or is over when you say it is, fine... I'll go along with it.. but show me where it is.

Look anarchist roy g, I didn't change the topic so what the fuck are you on about? Second, I am a moderator here so If there had been a problem either I or Ungovernable or Anxiety 69 or a hand full of other mods would have said something. You have a total of 16 posts and now you are going to dictate how this forum should be run? I don't know that I am in the wrong about shit other than pointing out your obvious inconsistencies. I don't need to look for an excuse to insult you, you've done a good job of sticking your own foot in your own pie-hole. If you want to get stuck here and continue a flame war where you're obviously off topic again...then fuck off! :lmao:

:/ No I'm not interested in flame wars, but I will stand up for myself. Everyone's gotta. But I consider the argument over-with. But I still wanna help ungovernable out if he wants it.

(My apologies.. I just realized I hadn't replied to this message that gobbledigooks wrote, so here is my response...)

Thanks, yes I have been meaning to read Abel Paz for a while. As for the figures, I only mentioned them because I was pointing out the book people use as a reference for the Spanish Civil War in hobbies and wargaming, though I bet a bunch of anarchist folks would appreciate stuff like that.

The nazi/fascist stuff in action. Yes I have seen that stuff here in the USA too and it's funny how many conservatives and people who claim to be "libertarians" are into nazi reenactment yet the right likes to rhetorically say the "liberals" are the "real nazis" because some of them oppose business having total power (and because right wingers tend to borrow the word socialist whenever corporations are grinding workers into the dirt in order to get workers on their side, but they always blame foreigners and socially weak people in society for lack of jobs or higher pay instead of the corporations themselves). Ironic isn't it? The right becomes fascist when workers movements are strong, and then later on has a collective memory loss and claims the fascists were left wingers somehow. (I think it has been a classic Glenn Beck tactic to accuse the left of every crime the right has been guilty of lately.... it's apparently not enough that they are guilty of their own crimes as leftists.)

I think it's horrible when those people get so deeply into it that it all seems like a rehearsal for the return of fascism (especially in Germany, of all places). Earlier I pointed out 3 of the web sites I came across that had that very stuff you are talking about. That said, what about reenacting the anarchist side? We've had a number of things to do together as anarchists at leisure time... community gardening and soccer games, bookfairs, etc. There's always reenactment too. Maybe Halloween.

Lastly, nobody is gonna grill anyone for being off topic (what's wrong with a polite reminder?)... any more than I hope I would not be grilled for suggesting people buy gear from a store that happens to have a some nationalist items around but doesn't support that shit (and remember, I told people I didn't support anyone buying from that store which I pointed at as an example of the generic garrison hat). As for lacking discipline, I don't remember anyone talking about that, but I think such an accusation was going both ways, since people suggested it was incorrect to buy this or that stuff. As for scaring off ordinary people, what I meant was causing people who would be attracted to anarchism for its emphasis on freedom ending up repulsed by it because it became so restrictive and oppressive that they end up going elsewhere. The straw-man image of radicalism is always set up by the powers that be, and we're goaded into imitating it. While I wouldn't want anyone who supports buying fascist stuff to become an anarchist, I think I would expect a certain amount of fairness and understanding of circumstances and contexts to be a part of what it is to be an anarchist. Fascism isn't something someone becomes a part of at the drop of a hat (one should hope.)

Do you plan to do the red-and-black-only beauty - or the one with the black cat?

First tip: Take both parts of the flag and fold in a seam of ca. 1cm wideness around the edges.
Fix those seams with brass pins or use an hot iron to keep the folds smoothly down.
Carefully cut away the excess fabric where the seams overlap at the "corners" of the fabric.
Best way to fix the seams finally is to use a sewing machine, sewing the seams per hand is lots of work and must be done very carefully to achieve a smooth seam.
After finishing the seams just position one piece of fabric on top of the other, check if they still fit in the length and decide which of the long sides will be the "joint" between both.
On this side fix both fabrics still one on top of the other one and start sewing them together as near as possible to the border of the fabric. The smoothness of the joint depends how near to the border you sew. Any excess fabric will "stiffen" the joint - bad thing if you fly the flag outdoors.
For indoors-use-only it's less important, just let the "bad" side face the wall.

There is a german housewifes sewing site with some photos about the seaming
    http://www.naehen-schneidern.de/naehanleitungen

Look unter "Nähanleitung mit Bildern und Schnittmuster" (orange lettering)
    - Wohntextilien
    - click on "Tischdecke mit Briefecken" - Pictures 1 - 11

    Good Luck!
