Anti-nowhere league has always seemed pretty cheesy to me, like Total Chaos.

That is exactly what I want. I think before we all start out casting the band, we gotta look at the lyrics. Maybe it is a sarcastic take on the protesters that have a go at homosexuals, I don't know... I have never actually listened to the band but I tried looking up lyrics for the song, couldn't find any...

this is what i understand from the song :

celebraties are out there having fun, for examples to us all everyone.george michael knows the price you have to pay,for looking around the marriages in a day. now we've got puffs, queers, faggots, dykes and lady boys and fuckin transvestites!
the day the world turned gay, everythings acceptable today, the day the world turnt gay, well i must of missed something along the way..
gay pride are marching out there on the town , there holding hands with there trousers down ,there sniffing eachothers arses just like dogs.
there being dirty and hanging around in bogs,.
    chorus..
homophobia you say to me, am i alone in a sick society, well there wont be a generation here to come.coz were a dead generation were a dead man leading on.. chorus.

i personally dont find it offensive, but ofcourse others can be offended by this its basicly a piss take humour song, dont think they mean anything personal.stil touchey song though.. kind of discriminating against some.. but it depends on the person if they find it humerous or serious..

Thank you for the lyrics =)

Yeah they are pretty ridiculous lyrics. Even if it is somehow supposed to be some kinda joke, it is hardly witty and just a poor effort to be humorous.

As a "retired" skinhead i will tell you it's difficult. The 4skins are VERY different now then they were back then. It's ingrained in every fresh cut that skinhead means patriotism.I left the subculture behind because of stupid politics. If your not a traditional a-political skinhead, then your a S.H.A.R.P. skin, if your not SHARP, then your a Red/Anarchist skin, if not that then your a scooter skin, and if you dont claim any then your labled as either a white nationalist bonehead or a fence sitter going in either direction depending on who's around at the time. I left for these reasons. I was ardently ANTIFA w/ anarchist anti "pro am" views and was labled a 'traitor' even though i was a skinhead while most were just a gleam in thier momma's eye. Laced and braced for 25 years. Now my hair is longer and I'm just another ANTIFA/anarcho activist now. Thats not saying all skinheads are like this; R.A.S.H. is very active and good people. The 4skins on the other hand are just cashing in on the new crop of kids and laughing all the way to the bank. What a bunch of cunts!

That's what i hear from most skins i know too. Unfortunately... I fear that it might very well end up destroying the culture

Fear it might destroy it? It already has. The subculture has eaten itself from the inside. The same way HxCx did in the 80's. For me, it was always music, the fashion, and politics. In that order. The punk scene is the same way. Most punks I know can't stand crusties, ect. Unity is key and thats something that punk has over skinhead. The main reason for skinhead circling the drain is this, the BNP and NATIONAL FRONT infiltration in the 70's on the terraces recruiting young, impessionable skinheads. Thats not to say that racism wasnt ever in the skinhead subculture in the early years of '68 and '69; paki bashing was prominent by both white AND black skinheads. It's been a constant black eye to the subculture that i loved so much although most non and anti racists skinheads will deny or totally omit from skinhead lore. Ahh revisionist history, gotta love it lol. BUT bands like the Business are still going strong AND staying true to thier roots and beliefs. The business even covered CRASS's Do They Owe Us a Living. Strong punk skinhead antifa roots there. I never supported R.A.C. bands....EVER!! Skrewdriver is in most collections of even proud SHARP skinheads music. IAN STEWART died, no lose there :lmao:

Hmm... Unfortunately i'm on the verge to agree with you. of course, there's some good Oi! and Ska bands left, and some good antifa communities. In my country we do have quite a lot antifa skinheads, but as a general scene, it's very torn apart.
Every subculture has it's dark parts - as much as i love them. I like Oi! punk and old-school punk stuff. I still remember Sham69 (who proclaimed that they were anarchists) as being one of the best concerts i've been to ;)
But it's good that some are still going strong!

Where I'm from, we've got a large number of SHARP skins and some apolitical skins...the racist skins sort of died years ago. But then again, some of the apolitical skins and a few contradictory SHARP skins here do have nationalist ideas. Some do take part in beating up immigrant workers and robbing them. They were fucking nationalists but not really racist cos I'm from a "multi-racial" country (Singapore). We have a good mix of chinese skinheads, indian skinheads and malay skinheads. But I have an antifa skinhead friend who's against nationalism and all this bullshit right wing stuff. I know a few SHARP skins who traveled to the neighbouring country (Malaysia) and rioted with the "Malay Power" scums. News was they managed to kill some of em. So it's really kinda confusing here in Singapore cos the SHARP skins hang out with the apolitical and some who claim to be SHARP are nationalists...for example, they rioted with Vietnamese immigrants at a Singapore VS Vietnam football/soccer match. :lmao:

4-skins always were pretty much racist anyway. The album "Strength Thru Oi " of 1981 had violent neo-nazi Nicky Crane on the cover and a subsequent Oi gig provoked a riot in Southall. Garry Bushell, who compiled the album, claimed he didn't know who it was????? but he (Crane) was a member of the British Movement as was a former member of the 4-skins. They spent years denying being racist etc before breaking up and apparently they have recently re-formed and have had a lot of anti-fascist supporters (again???)

Don't remember where I was reading that Paul Swain, a guitarist who later joined screwdriver was playing quite some time with the 4skins too?

I have always been picky about what Oi! & skin music i listen to. Call me selective but i usually don't bother with a Skin/Oi! band unless they are strictly anti-fascist and have no problem saying it. That may mean I'm missing out on some quality Apolitical bands but I'll take my chances. I know A lot of skins from the sydney scene and the majority of the ones i have met have been Apolitical and quite friendly people. It is the common Meat heads that espouse all the bullshit, even the "patriotic" skins can't stand them.

thats the problem, being anti fascist doesnt mean theyre not nationalist. theres very little difference to me.
