Hello everybody! I just registerd myself because i think this forum is great! Been into punk for a very long time and i haven't seen a good punk related forum in years. (Punk is dead in Holland....) So here i' am!!!!! So here a bit of a story about me: My name is Marit The Chaotik. I' am 28 years now, woman and from i'm from Holland and been into the whole punk thing for 12 years now. I have played guitar in a crust band called crucifixion of mankind (Fuck yeah, there is no better crust band name as lame as this!) and i sang in anarcho punk band called Artikel 2 for a while, i did a tape label and a distro and since 5 years i write a cut 'n' paste d.i.y punk fanzine called Chaotik's revenge and besides that i did my fair share of drinking, sniffin', sqauttting, veganisme, having serious cheese attacks, demostrations, riots, depressions, heart broken stories and true love experiences and all that sort of stuff.... and now i'm here. Much love, Marit
Hey I'm Dutch too! I'm from Brabant, and indeed punk is pretty much near dead here. Though in some bars you can still see it twitchin'. Eindhoven still has the occasional punk band playing here. Proost!
Well around your area are good gigs coming up though! But yeah, punk (gigs) became rare.. In Venlo there will be a huge party at perron 55 on 25 september which will be a blast with bands like: DOUBLE NEGATIVE (usa) CLOAK/DAGGER (usa) NIGHT FEVER (dk) LÄRM (nl - EP RELEASE PARTY) HJERTESTOP (dk) CITIZENS PATROL (nl) REPROACH (be) THE NOW DENIAL (ger) SHREDDER (be) LIFESPITE (nl) CRACKS IN THE WALL (nl) CHUCK DAMAGE (ger) TENSE REACTION (nl) MALFUNCTION (nl) REGULATIONS(DK) And the first weekend of Ocktober there is dynamo in Eindhoven with loads of grind bands. I really want to go there since i missed the all mighty Obscene Extreme festival in Czech Republic this year, so i can still have my overdose with extreme and brutal music. Are you going to any of those gigs Raven?
Sorry for the late reply, I've been keepin' myself rather busy lately. I might go to Dynamo but that depends on the price. I'm not exactly wealthy. Wish they took note to some of those eco-events who have a variable price that's according to your income.
