Gidday, my name's Mike Puke! I'm from Kaitangata, New Zealand! I play in a band called "The Pukes" and I also record/perform solo! I'm pretty much into the whole DIY thing and have recorded a few solo albums! Where do I stand politically? Fuck, I dunno... somewhere between anarchistic ideals and the left I suppose! I'm a bit of a hippy/punk/bogan-type dude and enjoy music, gardening and classic cars! Cheers!
Welcome. I too enjoy classic cars, I own a 1973 chevy Monte Carlo, a project with me Dad, ahd it 4 years now. Anywho, cheers and beers.
Hi Extinction, nice to meet someone else in the punk world into classic cars! Sounds like a nice Monte Carlo you have! I have a 1978 Triumph 3500 V8! I've had it for a bit over a year now! Cheers!
Triumph is good stuff. Thanks, it'll be done next year, I hope to drive it out to the West Coast of the US and back. We'll see.
Did you get many Triumphs in the US? I know you got some of the sports cars, but mine's a four door saloon, a bit like a Stag but with four doors! Mine's been modified with the V8, they came originally as sixes! Not sure where Minnesota is without looking at a map, but I know where the West Coast is and with America being a large country I'm guessing that would be a great drive!
The Triumphs I ever see are Spitfires, and maybe a sedan, but they're not too common out here. I bet she gets up and goes with that V8! Minnesota is the Icebox of The U.S., it's in the middle/north of the country, and it get's really cold here in the winter time. But I hope it will be a good drive.
Yeah, I thought there may be Spitfires and I'm pretty sure some Stags and the TR's made it to the US too. Probably fuck all though... Nice to hear there's a few sedans! She goes pretty good when ya want it too! Better than with the original engine anyway! I just love the sound of the V8, though I suppose they're a dime a dozen in the US! That's sounds like it'd be a great drive from where you are! Ha ha, you can drive from one end of New Zealand to the other in a couple days... though it's more fun to take your time and look at shit! Hope you do your drive in the Summer!
Yeah, V8's are pretty common in the US, so I suppose that's why the air isn't so clean here! Thanks Mike, good to talk to you. cheers.
