I'm 18, from Melbourne, and like a wide variety of music. I've been into metal and punk for a long time (6, 7 years) and these days listen to thrash/death/NWOBHM/doom metal (some black) mainly old-school stuff, with punk I'm interested in old hardcore, no specific scene really, crust, some grind, some powerviolence. Outside of metal and punk, I like hip hop, funk/soul, psychedelic rock, some classic/hard rock, and some alternative rock. Occassionally I'll listen to a bit of blues, a bit of classical and a bit of reggae.

Aside from music I like exploitation/b-movie films, and anything that is a real mind-fuck of a film (David Lynch is a favourite) or a really well-done emotional movie (I love Shane Meadow's films, all of them). I like some old cartoons like Ren and Stimpy, Johnny Bravo, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. Other than that I guess my hobbies are cricket, reading, going out. I'm at university, first-year, studying psychology. I want to become a therapist, because I think I'm good at that.

As for my political views, I haven't subscribed to anything really. It's not something that I've worried about or put great thought into. I guess that's it, and I don't really know why I've gone and written a short essay on myself for a bunch of people that don't know me, but whatever, it's always fun to talk about myself. This looks like a good site and a good resource, and good luck to it. I will contribute as much as I can (hopefully alot). :beers:

Edit - and I have a quick question. You say not to post well-known bands (Exploited, etc). What about rehearsals/bootlegs/demos from these bands? Are these allowed or not?

Mainstream/Commercial bands are disallowed because this site is dedicated to the underground scene, but also because this music is released under big pro-copyright labels...

For the precise case of Exploited, i don't think any of their stuff would fit on an anarcho-punk website like our's for many reasons. Not only their lyrics are stupid and they have nothing to do with anarchism or anarcho music, but they are also very weird about their political positions (pictures with nazis, nazi tattoos, and a lot of shit that got them hated from anarchos (and more recently they got beaten up by RASH Madrid for similar stories))....
Maybe we should start a topic about Exploited, i'm sure it would create a big debate :p

Haha well I doubt I could make much of a useful contribution to such a debate. But for any band that may have been okay to post if they weren't too big, is it still okay to post stuff like bootlegs and rehearsals or demos that were never officially released?

not my intention to defend wattie(though my personal opinion is that he's just a rather dumb guy who likes to get drunk and say lots of stupid shit - the annoying thing abut exploited,as far as i'm concerned,is them writing lyrics with the word anarchy without any real knowledge about what it means)...but getting beat up by someone doesn't make you their automatic polar opposite...plus rash madrid are a bit of a dubious organization if you ask me(from an anarchist stand point) with the pictures of lenin mao and other such figures welcoming visitors to their website.in fact rash to me has always seemed sort of anachronc,in that libertarians can't really cooperate succesfully with authoritarians(spanish anarchists should know that best).seems interesting though that most people who worship lenin, stalin, mao, etc never lived in a "communist" state.
